New York,NY(AHN)-Bob Costas, one of televisions most accomplished broadcasters and host of HBOs Costas Now, joins CNN as a substitute host for Larry King Live, it was announced today by CNN/U.S. President Jon Klein.
Were thrilled to have one of televisions most outstanding broadcasters joining the CNN roster, Klein said. Bobs quick wit, nimble mind and broad range of interests will engage viewers in the best King tradition.
Its an honor to have the opportunity to sit in for Larry, Costas said. Ive always enjoyed the long-form interview, and Larrys program is synonymous with that television format.
Costas joined HBO Sports in February 2001 with the debut of On the Record with Bob Costas, a compelling mix of interviews, commentary and debate. Costass other work for HBO Sports includes co-hosting Inside the NFL, cables longest-running series, and hosting duties for pay-per-view boxing specials.
A 25-year veteran of NBC Sports, Costas has been a prominent figure in virtually every major sports event for the network, including six Olympics and numerous World Series, Super Bowls and NBA finals.
For six years, he hosted his own highly acclaimed late-night talk show, Later with Bob Costas. Besides garnering 17 Emmy awards, Costas has been honored as Sportscaster of the Year by the National Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association a record eight times.

I don't think Bob will be able to fill Larry's diapers.

HAhahaha - Costas proved himself to be a senseless liberal sniveler during the Olympics with his anti-American snippy comments.Actually that was Katie Couric, Costas bodyslammed her on the air a number of times.

Yeah, Republicans are annoying twerps.Being a Republican does not exempt someone from possibly also being an anoying twerp.
That said, what on earth makes you think Costas is a Republican.

They oughta be careful, King's the last big ratings winner on CNN.

8. On HBO, Bob Costas Delivers a Sycophantic Session with Hillary. Bob Costas was every bit as sycophantic toward Hillary Clinton as was Barbara Walters, Katie Couric or Charlie Rose. In the pre-taped interview which led the July 18 On the Record with Bob Costas on HBO, Costas wished for her to impart her wisdom: How, from where you sit, have you maintained your dignity and how can you be so controlled under circumstances that would be trying for the best of us? He claimed shes the victim of attacks about private and painful matters, asked what are your best and worst qualities as a politician? and though Bill Clinton attracted less than 50 percent of the vote in 1996, Costas insisted: Your husband won landslide re-election in 1996. In between all that, he also reminded her that in high school she was the President of the Fabian Fan Club and asked her to assess Senator Bob Grahams charge that President Bush should be impeached. http://www.mediaresearch.org/cyberalerts/2003/cyb20030721.asp
