Several years ago, Imam Muhammed Adil Khan of the Lodi mosque signed a "Declaration of Peace" with a rabbi and a Christian minister. The declaration condemned terrorism by religious fanatics of all faiths.
Over the weekend, Khan - known to local Muslim leaders as an honorable man who often reached out to other faiths - reportedly was caught in an FBI sweep that has struck fear into many of Lodi's 2,500 Pakistani Americans.
Basim Elkarra, executive director of the Sacramento Valley chapter of CAIR (Council on American Islamic Relations), said Khan was one of several local Muslim leaders who previously met with the FBI to discuss security issues. "They've got nothing on those guys," Elkarra said. "This has happened before - if they don't like them, they'll get them on immigration violations. We will fight to make sure that everyone's civil liberties are upheld."

I think so. Perhaps the poster could summarize the article.
He lied? Imagine that. You'd almost think he was a DemoncRAT.

His purported training included explosives and weapons instruction and using photographs of President Bush as targets, court documents indicate.

Is anyone else thinking what I'm thinking they might have been capable of spreading this way? It's all we can do to keep our own food supply safe in the U.S. No way could I ever advocate depending on foreign countries for our food supply!!!
Correct. Lying in English is acceptable.

His father, 47-year-old Umer Hayat, a Lodi ice cream truck driver, is charged in the complaint with lying about his son's involvement and about his own financing of the terrorist camp."

These FBI guys know the deal. They saw the movie.
They were just trying to head off the "Wrath of Khan".
Seriously though, if they were Christians suspected of something, they would have surrounded their "compound", and used psych warfare tactics on them for many days, before ultimately gassing and burning them to death.
I guess we have a kinder, more gentle FBI when it comes to Muslims, huh?
I bet he and his son weren't in "Good Humor" after the FBI swooped in on their asses.
An ice cream truck driver? Talk about DEEP cover.
I see a plot line for next season's "24".
Having a "business" also provided them the perfect means to launder terrorist funding, too.
I have a friend who is highly suspicious of all "Good Humor" men. She thinks they're all pedophiles.
"I drive an ice cream truck, but I would rather drive the Jews into the sea." -- fake interview on the local radio show today.
I don't imagine he was pedaling "Kosher" ice cream, huh?
