Is your mom able to converse & recall things from past? I know she is in assissted living but not remembering if it is all physical or partly memory/loss of related

No she cannot really remember anything even who "Eleanor" really is. She will sometimes call me by my name but I never really know if she realises she is my mother.

She cannot hold a conversation and in fact makes up words. See can say please and thank you but if you ask her if she wants some chocolate she may say yes but you are never sure if she really knows what chocolate is. We have a favourite chocolate bar of hers "mint aero" and I gave her a piece the other day and she said this is new I never seen it before or words to this effect the product has been in the UK probably most of her life and certainly all of mine.

She makes comments like where is the dog I put him in the kitchen etc etc.

This disease is horrible and robs you of the person you love long before they die.
