Party leaders generally don't really believe in the grassroots. They periodically pay lip service to it, but that's about it. To them, money is the be-all and end-all of politics.
There are some notable exceptions to this, and those people are to be commended and should be supported.
But we have a LONG way to go...

If the grass roots are abandoned for the most part, then that is a big mistake on the party's part.
They do need nerve, confidence and should be working their tails off explaining the Republican platform compared to the Democrat platform to as many people as possible.
Once people are educated, most choose conservatism/Republican because it is the closest to family values and what many relate to in their faith.
You shake your head and wonder why when they are in power they act like they are out of power.
The Democrats are imploding and this is a good opportunity to have them lose even more power if Republicans would just be proactive a bit.
