I don't get it either. One guy I talked to said he didn't like abortion but had no answer when I said why do you vote for democrats? i think a lot of black people are insecure. They know the democrats aren't good people but many are familiar with their hucksterisms BUT they won't go over to the republican party. It's fear. Fear of the unknown. I stopped inviting black people to a lot of the things I go to because the first question I get is 'are there going to be any black people there'? It's so tragic.
I hear that. I remember going to events at Michigan as an undergrad. I went to all kinds of things and often found myself the only 'person of color' there. So what? I was at school to expand my horizons.
I think I wound up a well-rounded person, they left school with the same perspective on the world as when they came in. I still meet people with that closed view of life. Sad.
