She played many notable roles, the most electrifying being Mrs. Robinson in "The Graduate."

Her most famous roles were Mrs. Robinson in "The GRaduate" and Helen Keller's teacher Anne Sullivan in "The Miracle Worker".
She was married to Mel Brooks for many years. Never understood that pairing.

Or, you are very young, lived under a rock or in a foreign country without electricity?

Rent "The Graduate" With Anne Bancroft and Dustin Hoffman. That was a great movie that came out in the '60's when I was a teenager. She was also in "The Miracle Worker" I believe. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

the emphasis here seems to be on her role as Mrs. Robinson in The Graduate; however, she won the academy award for her role as Helen Keller's teacher in "The Miracle WOrker." A fine actress who managed one of HOllywood's few long-lasting marriages to Mel Brooks.
Here's to you, Mrs. Robinson ... rest in peace.
