She was indeed a fine actress and a lady. May she rest in peace.
I understand she and Mel had a pretty good marriage. Prayers for him, too.

Could you correct the name to "Anne"? It's causing confusion. Thanks.

If this is the wife of Mell Brooks I'd suggest asking the moderator to add an "e" to Ann.
Ann Bancroft is a polar explorer. Anne Bancroft, and actress.

She was 36 when she played Mrs. Robinson...Dustin Hoffman was 30.
To: Rodney King
She played many notable roles, the most electrifying being Mrs. Robinson in "The Graduate."

Was she ill or what? She didn't seem that old.
To: Rodney King
Her most famous roles were Mrs. Robinson in "The GRaduate" and Helen Keller's teacher Anne Sullivan in "The Miracle Worker".
She was married to Mel Brooks for many years. Never understood that pairing.

Here's to you Mrs. Robinson...

Anne gave a wonderful performance in the move "Fatso", where she played the sister of Dom DeLouise. One of the funniest movies ever made.
The movie was HER!

They got married in 1964, and I've never heard that they were anything but happy.
41 years is a wonderful record.

Hold on, the woman from the Graduate is Anne Bancroft. However, the person who died is Ann Bancroft, minues the e. Ann Bancroft is a polar explorer.
Ann Bancroft is one of the worlds preeminent polar explorers and an internationally recognized leader who is dedicated to inspiring women, girls and audiences around the world to unleash the power of their dreams. Through her various roles as an explorer, educator and sought-after speaker, Bancroft believes that by sharing stories related to her dreams of outdoor adventure, she can help inspire a global audience to pursue their individual dreams.
Bancrofts teamwork and leadership skills have undergone severe tests during her polar expeditions and provided her with opportunities to shatter female stereotypes. The tenacity and courage that define her character have earned Bancroft worldwide recognition as one of todays most influential role models for women and girls. She has been named among Glamour magazines Women of the Year (2001); featured in the book Remarkable Women of the Twentieth Century (1998); inducted into the National Womens Hall of Fame (1995); named Ms. magazines Woman of the Year (1987); and honored with numerous other awards for her accomplishments.
