Abercrombie and Fitch and its subsidiary Hollister have shown an unusual degree of anatagonism to the name of Christ and an unusual display of wickedness in their promotions.
In protest, we will not allow articles of clothing displaying their logos to we worn, carried or displayed. (even if covered or masked in some way)

Look, I have personal experience being on the delivery end of these complaints ~ bunch of Blue Nosed do-gooders out there think they are helping America by beating up on BJU, but while they are doing that they paralyze the government agencies they complain to.
A POX ON THEM.
Thousands of other schools manage to accomodate the GI Bill without difficulty. Not that I would recommend BJU to any veterans not interested in the ministry anyway.
Catholic schools have always had a goodly number of non-Catholic students who attended their own churches. They have come for an education that is not available at public schools. I view Bob Jones in the same manner. Students attend for the education they want and religious denomination is not always central to their agenda. Catholic children have attended Christian schools and derived benefit from the biblical teachings while remaining Catholic. I knew two students from BJU who were there for the superior music dept, and I know graduates who became highly successful in business because of their BJU education. I think that by marching to their own tune, BJU can speak out about A&F without the consequences that can inhibit others.
Please explain to me how they connected "being bad" with wearing denim shirts etc. (or was it you who did that?)
You just gotta tell me where I can buy one of those Islamic slave labor shirts. Do you suppose they sell them at the campus bookstore?
Walmart can usually be pretty reliable in stocking these items.
I'm sure you can get one at Target, or the Gap, or just about anywhere else sells mass-produced clothing.
Well .. if you had bothered to read the thread .. you might have noticed that I have never even tried to change anybody's mind - but I have been consistantly called names and told I'm a liar.
I believe I said more than one time .. I don't give a rip what other people think about this issue .. I know what I saw and I know what I believe and I'm not afraid to stick with it - while I was told I had to admit I was lying.
I'm done with this conversation .. because all you tolerant Christian people are a joke!! I still think it's really funny that more and more people continue to come to this thread to see if they can take me down. YOU LOST!!!
Well, thousands of other schools are not BJU. Believe me, they have their enemies.
Smile - well said!
You should simply re-IPL your main processor chip and try again eh?!
Those are chinese dirt-cheep labor shirts - not the same thing...
No doubt.
I think you had to order the catalog if gotten by mail or asked to be put on their catalog mailing list. Most were handed out to teenagers when they visited the stores and ask for it. (so parents wouldn't see it or find out)
You have to either be on the mailing list or purchase the catalogue at the store. There's no conspiracy to slip the catalogue to kids without their parents knowing. A&F has no social agenda other than making a ton of money.
I tell ya what. I am an open minded mother but that catalogue they had with the semi nudity in backseats of cars, etc., did it for me. We no longer shop there. We go to American Eagle.
I agree about the money part, but by allowing under age teenagers to purchase in the store circumvents parental control over what their children see. It's a matter of rights of parents that is violated here. You have to be at least 18 in most places to buy skin magazines.
What reputable merchant sells what could be considered porn to children? Here is a good take on it from the SanFrancisco Journal:

All of them? C'mon. Where do you think Nike makes their gear?
From what I've heard, A&F pulled back significantly from the nudity after the 1993 debacle. So the catalogue has been toned down. It's still racy, but less skin showing. Speaking with the few garmentos I know, apparently A&F didn't fully understand their market. They thought they were selling to the 18 and up crowd. This was a logical assumption given the price of their stuff. However, it was a false assumption since many tweens or young will get mom and dad to purchase that $35.00 t-shirt.
As for circumventing parental control, kids have been doing that since, well, forever. The responsibility rests -- as it always has -- with the parents. They are responsible for fighting that particular war and not the manufacturers or the retailers. When parents say they want a society safe for their kids, what they mean is that they want someone else to do their job.
