"Seven chaperones ..."

I've heard so many numbers of chaperones. But to have only 7 adults in charge of over 100 students is just plain stupid.

These aren't grade schoolers. They are all young adults from what I've read. If I sent my 18 year-old out into the world unequipped to handle this type of situation, I'd be kicking myself all over the place. It sounds tough, but the girl made a very bad choice. It cost her.

esp if the chaperones were in the same conditions as the kids as I recall from our "chaperoned" high school trips, LOL

Apparently, the chaperones aren't there to WATCH everybody, nor to account for them every minute of the day. They're there as "advisors".

Hmm, they said on tv that there were 43 chaperones for the 130 plus kids. Sounds like an awful lot of grownups, if true, but clearly not enough.
