I guess it depends on the third world hell hole. Personally I would go on vacation to relax and NOT have to use my brains to escape murder or white slavery, but that's just me. Doesn't sound like Aruba's a good deal at this point.

The United States is not exactly crime free, you know. This could have just as well happened in Alabama as in Aruba, sadly enough.

All you have to do is be careful with whom you associate. Being an 18 year-old white female that goes off alone to 'party' with the local men is probably not a good idea no matter where you are.

I have avoided doing that and managed to have a splendid, splendid, relaxing time.
