of course joke was on this jerk, after four hours of hell, we stopped payment on the cheque, loser took a cheque for the trip, LOL.....so we got the last laugh but both my sister and I looked at each other and couldn't believe we had been that slack.......

And he will take it out on the next Americans he catches ...

well we were actually guests of the people who paid for the trip and we were young and stupid then, and just glad to get off that boat, we just chalked it up to an adventure

but you are right, I would definitely do that now, call the authorities, the tourist board, the magazine where this guy's ad was, etc...
