You just know they are screaming "JUST KILL THE GUY AND GET THIS OVER WITH!!!" I've been stuck on that fwy, and while not this long, you start getting pissed, no matter how laid back you are.
Right now, I'm imagining the whole crowd chanting my old football game cheer: "Kill Kill, Hate Hate, Murder Murder, Mutilate"!!! We used to yell that when we were playing Locke HS ; )

they didnt want the armed suspect to head into downtown, which is minutes to the west...they closed all the onramps, and the freeway was thinned out enough to do the PIT maneuver....
LAPD has also changed their policy to include the PIT Maneuver to end chases quickly.

Have the authorities made any statements or are we just getting the chatter from the radios?
Has anyone suggested that Ahnold get his gear packed, lock and load and head out?

A couple of years ago a guy wouldn't leave his van after a chase. I think it was on the 10 in San Gabriel valley. I remember it was a friday night. They shut down the freeway that night as well. People were pissed.
At least now Caltrans can get out there with some asphalt and fill in those holes on the 10 before it reopens.

I was once in a jam on I-26 (North Carolina) for about two hours. Beer truck rolled. At least, salvaging the beer was worthwhile. I felt better when I saw the recovery effort as we passed.

I was stuck on a bridge in Arkansas with 3 kids and a dog for 4 hours in 95 degree heat. Fortunately, we had water, Coke, chips, candy and some empty containers!
