This photo looks more like the Katherine Harris I know! I am proud to say she is my Congresswoman and she will be a sensational Senator!

BTW that photo of her on the horse is for real. She works out every day and is very disciplined about her diet.

She's a devout pro- life Christian.

She's accomplished some important legislature such as the American Dream bill which helps more people achieve home ownership.

She's worked hard on veterans issues and has been successful in getting a Veterans Cemetery for Sarasota County.

She's a tough campaigner and excellent speaker. She will work very hard to beat Nelsen and win the Senate seat.

BTW I'm been told that she is #3 in raising money for other GOP candidates.

Here she is giving a speech at Harvard where she earned an MBA.

I'd volunteer to work on her campaign anytime!!! Too bad I don't live in Florida.

100% agreed.

And, truthfully, I cannot understand the fear people cite about being polarizing. Bush was polarizing and he won 51% of the vote. These same people contend Hillary will win (something I dispute as inevitable), yet she is polarizing. Why the doube standard for Harris?

Truth is that Mel was a weak candidate. Poor name recognition. He wasn't very confidant in debates. As a Senator he comes across far better than one on one with the opposition during the election, but he squeaked out a win. If Mel can win, a candidate the base already knows and likes certainly can.

I wanted her to run in '04. She held off at request of the W.H. This is her turn. Certainly she'll have no trouble raising a war chest, she has helped many other Republicans fill theirs.

And I look forward to watching the Dems in the Senate absolutely lose it the minute they see her face on the floor. LOL

I was wondering when the Harris boosters would show up. I remember having a few arguments over her possible 2004 candidacy -- I think things have worked out for the best and this is a better situation for her to be in. Don't think she'll have too much competition in the primary either. I also think since this isn't a prez year and most of the voting issues have been cleared up the 2000 situation will fade to deep background by the time the election rolls around. (Expect the rats to repeatedly bring up current voting issues and blame them on Harris though.)
