We just let you know what the customer is going to whine about. IRS agents have to dress too nice, crappy job.
I didn't say I invented the superslow routine. But I have adapted it to my needs. The original Nautilus routine was 8 to 12 reps at 6 to 8 seconds per rep. I used Nautilus for years before switching to more efficient machines. I still do free weights, but on a limited basis.
Too bad we don't all live in Hawaii-youcould climb Diamond Head every day. We just came back from a family vacation and all of us did it-even the out shape people. It takes about an hour-those last 90 steps are a killer!!
...a lot might depend on whether you're the pitcher or the catcher.
Re#43 Thanks. Going to bookmark this one. Stay healthy and safe out there....
lol...
That's MUCH better than a liberal, I hear they can do 1 minute 15 times a day, but they have to be looking at their OWN picture or reflection in the mirror.
As I have gotten older, I have found that my most effective workouts were where I split the body up into three sections, and worked each section out only once per week. I got big and strong doing this. Intense workouts, of course.
Lift Weights
Helicopter up..bike down...
where's Hilly? (g)
Wow! How on earth did this happen? Was the treadmill running already before this person stepped on? Is this a joke or real. Seriously.
Now that would be a dream exercise facility...
More if a girl's there, I'll bet. Ok, your turn.
Yes. The Endorphin rush!
Hawaii is beautiful. The view from the top of Diamond Head was worth every bead of sweat.
There are three things you must do to replace fat with muscle.
1.) Pick up weight
2.) Put down weight
3.) Repeat
Seriously, anaerobic (weightlifting) exercise is as important to a training routine as aerobic exercise. You can even make weight lifting somewhat aerobic if you really hit it hard. The simple fact that you have muscle burns fat, so put on some muscle and speed up your metabolism and watch the fat melt away.
In any case, you should be out of the gym in an hour. Short intense workouts are best. Try supersets and compounds, they will tire you out in a hurry and then go home.
I have a friend who feels that you should do more each time you go to the gym. He says, either a little more weight, a few more reps or STAY HOME!
Another thing I'm beginning to believe more and more (especially if you are getting into your 40's and beyond) is to mix things up. Your body learns and adopts habits faster than we're all comfortable with. If you've been real good and have worked out 6 times a week for the past 8 weeks, take a week off. You'll miss it, but you're giving your body something else to "think" about for a while. Along with challenges you've set for your body, it's sometimes good to throw it a curve (not too extreme now) and see how well it adapts.
The important thing to remember is that the more muscle mass you have, the more you are required to eat. In other words, it's easier to stay slim if your muscles are bigger. And ladies, strong muscles mean strong bones. You can eat all the calcium in the world, but you must first give your bones a reason to be stronger.
And please remember one thing above all others mentioned here: if you do not eat, you will not grow. Starvation is the worst possible way to lose weight. Diets are fine and dandy as long as you eat. If you do not eat, your body will use muscle for energy, and store MORE fat for that rainy day.
I know, I know. It's your job, and I'd bet you're very good at it. It takes a special (patient) person to be a tester. We need you all, and someone that really loves to do it is difficult to find. Anticipating stupidity and neglect takes real talent.
