I leave for work at 4:30 am, and yesterday I saw a short piece on the Normandy invasion on the History Channel.
They showed film of the Navy Destroyers knocking out the German pill-boxes at the risk of running aground.

The whole invasion was amazing. If you haven't seen band of brothers, you really need to. It may be 10 hours, but it is an investment of time, not a waste. on a 1-10 scale, Private Ryan is an 8 and Band is a 10.
