Kerry allows Navy release of military, medical records (Navy provided them to Boston Globe)
boston Globe ^ | June 7, 2005 | Michael Kranish

Senator John F. Kerry, ending at least two years of refusal, has waived privacy restrictions and authorized the release of his full military and medical records.

The records, which the Navy Personnel Command provided to the Globe, are mostly a duplication of what Kerry released during his 2004 campaign for president, including numerous commendations from commanding officers who later criticized Kerry's Vietnam service.

The lack of any substantive new material about Kerry's military career in the documents raises the question of why Kerry refused for so long to waive privacy restrictions.

I think he waited until after he sent in Sandy Berger to stuff the incriminating ones into his shoes and pants and remove them from the records.

"On May 20, Kerry signed a document called Standard Form 180, authorizing the Navy to send an ''undeleted" copy of his ''complete military service record and medical record" to the Globe. "

Apparently he did sign the 180 -- but seriously, I wouldn't be surprised if some mole hadn't gotten in there and removed some incriminating ones, such as his original suspected dishonorable or at least general discharge.

He just released the same crap again. There were a substantianal number of files missing, including reason for discharge etc.
This is whitewash. He did not sign anything I'll bet.

I posted on a thread in early 2004 that Kerry had a mole in the DOD who was slowly and surreptitiously sanitizing his file. Looks like the job has been completed, and now the pajama squad has another job to do detecting the alterations and frauds. Of course the MSM won't give any of it any credence.

Who has access now? Maybe it is the content that was altered. Maybe the handlers at the Globe are just willing to not turn over any rocks.

I couldn't tell from the article. Hopefully there will be some clarification about Mr. Kerry's original separation and discharge from the Navy.

There were suspicions, mine included, that something might have been less-than-honorable.

Ideally, we'll be able to get to the purple heart of the matter.

I'm with you -- it's not only possible, but highly probable.

Releasing them to his confederates at the Globe is hardly full disclosure. Does Jeff Jacoby get a peek?

something does not smell right

Judicial Watch applied to get all of Kerry's Navy record,
during the campaign, I followed this case very closely

the Navy gave Judicial Watch a bunch of documents (including one that suggested that one of Kerry's band of brothers lied about being present for one of his heroic actions, the Navy document showed the man was in hospital or something, I think the NY Sun picked up on that as well)

the Navy told Judicial Watch to go to Kerry's website for some of the documents [Judicial Watch was very pissed off, they felt they should get copies of the Navy originals not what John Kerry claimed was the copy of his record to make sure he hadn't deleted or altered what he had posted]

and then the Navy said there were at least 100 documents they could not release without Kerry's consent

now that 100 document number has been variously reported from 40 to 100 documents or pages of documents....which implies there are a bunch of documents out there that only Judicial Watch and maybe the NY Sun has seen and a bunch of documents no one has seen

we can only conclude that Kerry got his records cleaned up before he even considered running or he got it cleaned up since the election realizing he still wanted to take a kick at the can and that Hillary would be gunning for any tidbit

the nice thing about Hillary is if Kerry is hiding something, if Kerry did manage to whitewash his record, if anyone can find out he did, it will be Hillary....

Whatever happened to the documents that Nicosia (IIRC) had obtained via FOIA - all 14 boxes of them? I remember some were "stolen" at just the right time. Seems like that guy needs to be paid a visit.

"The file does not provide new documents about various combat actions. It contains mostly a repetition of Kerry's citations for the Silver Star, Bronze Star, and three Purple Hearts. For example, it does not include the combat ''after action reports" that detail what happened in some of the firefights in which Kerry participated."

And of course, none of them are available to view. There are words missing from this story. Words like "cleared by kerry to be released". There are files requesting citation wording changes, where are they?

I recall the Pentagon said last year it did not release about 100 of Kerry's documents.

I read that story about him signing Form 180, but there has been no independent verification that he did sign it.. IMHO we will never see his complete record for the simple fact that if his service was so honorable, he would have signed the form already.

Here is what a signed form 180 will reveal......

John Kerry entered the Navy with an Agenda

John Kerry took an 8mm Camera with him in order to record his own self Jimmy Carter pardoned John Kerry for his anti-war activities while still an officer of the Navy.

John Kerry involved himself with several violent anti-war groups who drew FBI scrutiny, his actions while considered the leader of the VVAW played a significant factor in the whole Water-Gate scandal.

I personally don't believe John Kerry will ever sign Form 180, he simply can't defend the reports from his crew-mates, nor his self written "After action" reports
