He wasn't, and despite the complaints, he didn't. I will concede that the relationship with Palpatine was implied more than revealed, but there are a lot of steps towards his turning.

Anakin wasn't trained since birth. The Jedi didn't discover him until he was 9 or 10 years old (episode 1). If I remember correctly, the Jedi counsel thought he was already too old to be trained as a Jedi.
