Look it's really very simple. If you carry the gene for schizophrenia, many substances can increase the chances of an episode. Pot is only one of those substances. Coffee, tea and alcohol have just as high a risk of an episode as pot.
Environment plays a bigger role on increasing the chances of an episode. Those in a dysfunctional family are at a higher risk than those who smoke pot. Those who live in the city are at a higher risk than those who live in the country. I too have posted real science on this subject here on FR.
Those who claim pot causes schizophrenia are either confused by propaganda or dishonest.

Schizophrenia is a cousin to the gene that causes Autism.
My cousing on there father's side no relation to me, have children all with that defective gene it has nothing to do with a substance some think it has come from marrying within the same family like brother and sister, first cousins which was a common thing to do years and years ago within European countries...
