Right-wing glues shut 150 gov't offices

Making good with their threat to "paralyze" the country during the planned evacuation from the Gaza Strip this summer, anti-disengagement activists overnight Saturday glued shut the doors to some 150 government buildings under the oblivious eyes of security guards.

In a late-night operation, activists spread out across the country and filled the locks of doors to government buildings in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Petah Tikvah, Ramat Gan, Bnei Brak, Herziliya, Givatayim and Bat Yam with super glue.

The offices included Interior Ministry offices, Absorption Ministry offices in addition to National Insurance Institute and post offices. The activists hung signs on the doors reading: "Jews do not deport Jews." Firemen and locksmiths were alerted to the buildings to open the doors.

Tel Aviv police reported 21 offices that were locked shut, adding that policemen spotted some of the perpetrators near the government campus but failed to catch them.

In Jerusalem, five youths were apprehended by police near the Disengagement Authority offices on Rehov Kanfei Nesharim. In Petah Tikvah, activists tampered with the locks to three postal offices.

"The disengagement will not happen," read signs left on the locked doors. "If the roads leading to Gush Katif are closed, we will close down the rest of the roads in the country. If schools in Gush Katif are shut down, we will shut down the rest of the schools in the country. If the various government offices continue to cooperate with this corrupt government, their branches will be shut down across the country."

"If the citizens of the State of Israel do not wake up from this nightmare, the whole country will be shut down, locked and paralyzed!" the letter continued.

On Saturday night, hundreds of right-wing activists blocked off the Tel-Aviv-Jerusalem Highway (Road 1) near Kfar Habad in both directions, in addition to the Beit Dagan Junction near Ramle. Large police forces arrived at the scene and dispersed the demonstrators. Twelve protestors were arrested.

Contrast the difference between the left and right. The left riot and murder, the right uses Elmer's.

While our Pubbies in DC are trying to find the cash for a set of Neuticals, some of the Israeli citizenry seems to be doing quite well with their original issued anatomy.

Could we run some of them for office? It could only help.

I'd bet on cyanoacrylate glue instead. Or a fast set epoxy if someone is in a really bad mood.

I think epoxy putty would be better yet. Just slice of a small wad, knead for about 30 seconds, and stuff it in the lock.

Why the h*ll does the 'media' insist on calling citizens bent on keeping their country together right-wing activists?

The dementia in the press is infuriating!

I love it! Talk about imagination! Can Israel lease these good folks to us for a few days? There are quite a few doors across the Potomac that need long-term gluing shut!
