Democratic Sen. Joe Biden blasted the head of his own party on Sunday for his over-the-top outbursts, saying that Democratic National Committee chairman Howard Dean doesn't speak for him as well as most other Democrats he knows.
Asked about recent comments where Dean trashed Republicans as "evil" and said House Majority Leader Tom DeLay belongs in jail, Biden told ABC's "This Week": "He doesn't speak for me with that kind of rhetoric and I don't think he speaks for the majority of Democrats."
Asked if he thought Democrats needed to "rein [Dean] in," Biden said, "I don't presume to suggest that I could rein in any chairman. But I think that the response from the bulk of the elected Democrats - I don't imagine would be much different."
"I hope [Dean] listens," added the Delaware Democrat.

Dean was elected by the state party officials. Dean ran for the office of DNC Chaiman and the State party leaders elected him.
Hillary explored coming out in open opposition to Dean but the Clintons counted the votes and realized that even with their opposition Dean would still be elected Chairman.
Dean will not resign. And as long as he has the support of the state party officals he is safe. He says the things he says because the Rank and File Democrats who run the party on a local basis love him.
The danger for Hillary is Kerry is going to run again with the support of Kennedy. For that battle Dean will be in Kerry's corner. If the media plays up Hillary as the anti-Dean, the base may very well give Kerry the nomination again.
Biden may very well trash Dean, but you will not hear Hillary bash him if she can stay out of the lime light where Dean is concerned.

Howard Dean did get some kids involved in his campaign, and did raise a few bucks in 2003, but...
When the Democrat Party voters actually started voting in 2004, Dean fell off the face of the earth.
As long as Democrats don't care about actually winning elections, Howard Dean is the perfect spokesman for them.

Biden said, "I don't presume to suggest that I could rein in any chairman". But of course he has no problem with presuming to rein in the President, the Senate or the American people if they get out of line...

No I don't suppose Howling Howard Dean does speak for Biden or the rest of the party, they are too slick to reveal their evil thoughts-Howling Howard merely amplifies the inner evil they so desperately wish to keep hidded.

"Base" ? When will people understand that the Democratic base is not just cultural elite latte liberals ? It is also minority voters for whom the 90's were economically the best of times ? Blacks don't like cultural elite latte liberals. They like someone who can walk into a church and not look like Margaret Mead in Samoa. Kerry never understood that.
Blacks will give Hillary overwhelming support and that will clinch the nomination.

Howling Howard Dean is making history-he represents the first time in political history that a party's logo, has been promoted to Party Chairman.

Someone needs to get Biden's face onto a dart board or a urinal screen, TV spots are penny ante compared to what that face could earn in many other places.
The image of Biden's bloated EGO could be valuable in those new anti fat commercials. Bodies the size of Biden's EGO have steady gigs on the Springer show.
If we stood Biden's EGO up beside Michael Moore's body, Moore would appear to anorexic by comparison.

Bull crap! Everything Dean says is exactly what the Democrats like Biden thinks. Who is he kidding? Only fools would go along with Biden's simple mindset, Dean doesn't speak for us (me)??????
