ACLU: Fed Chastity Program Ringed with Religion
Women's eNews ^ | 06/05/05 | Cynthia L. Cooper

As hundreds of millions of tax dollars pour into chastity programs, the ACLU is tackling government support of one program in particular, the high-tech Silver Ring Thing, calling it old-fashioned religious indoctrination. Third in a series on religion.

(WOMENSENEWS)--The Silver Ring Thing is a live three-hour, high-tech sound, light and video show complete with actors and comedy sketches with a stated mission to impress teens to promote teen chastity and so-called Christian values.

The mobile shows--set up in churches, conference centers and other venues around the country--culminate with teens pledging abstinence until they present a silver ring that symbolizes their celibacy to their spouse on their wedding day. They also sign a covenant agreeing to follow "biblical standards." Teens who don't want to participate in the religious testimonials that are part of the ceremony are allowed to leave the room.

Heard on the radio this morning the ACLU is shredding documents in violation of its own policies - can't seem to find a print article (tried FR, Google, Yahoo News, NYT, etc.)

Roger Baldwin, the first director of the ACLU, was a communist. His book was called Liberty Under the Soviets.A quote from that book. I don’t regret being a part of the Communist tactic, which increased the effectiveness of a good cause. I knew what I was doing. I was not an innocent liberal. I wanted what the Communists wanted…

William Z. Foster, then National Chairman of the Communist Party USA and an ACLU co-founder, is famous for this 1932 quote: “The establishment of an American Soviet government will involve the confiscation of large landed estates in town and country, and also, the whole body to forests, mineral deposits, lakes, rivers and so on.” He was the author of "Toward Soviet America".

I really think we should get the ACLU off the government payroll. They are turning our country into another communist land and we the taxpayers a footing the bill for it..

Christians better understand, this might not be the prophetic end, but it's getting closer at least to the beginning of it. Remember we fight principalities and powers no better way to win than with God's word...

Jesus prays, "Thy kindom come...", we're to pray in like manner. Why pray for something that is prophetically going to happen?

God's way of enlisting us in his program. (C. Missler)

"with a stated mission to impress teens to promote teen chastity and so-called Christian values"

Would a Muslim also want this? Not to mention Jews, Hindus and Buddists!

If you are having or plan on having an affair with a member of the ACLU, you should probably seek love elsewhere.

Those guys are the ones who found a "civil right" for the HIV virus, and odds are most of them carry it.

ACLU, not safe at any speed, FUR SHUR.

All monotheist religions (and some that aren't, like Buddhism) adhere to the universal moral absolutes, and high on the list of such moral absolutes are chastity before marriage, and monogamous fidelity during.

(Discounting polygamy, I prefer not to pay attention to anything Islam lately.)

The Public Expression of Religion Act will prevent the ACLU from sucking up taxpayer funds:

Let's see: indoctrination in socialism is just being informational but expressing faith values in respect to sexuality is a violation of the separation of religion and state. Thanks for clearing that one up, ACLU!

Has anyone told you lately how annoying that is?
