Fascinating stuff. Maybe an effort to get the dirt out now, while there's still plenty of time for Hillary to "put it all behind her" in time for 2008?

It could give another reason why the Dims are so hot to push this Downing Street memo story. What better way to stuff these books down the memory crapper than to trump up an impeachment case?

Actually there is absolutely nothing of consequence in it. The left is making hay over the fact that, in hindsight, it looks like the decision to go to war with Saddam was made a long time ago . . . well, duh, wasn't it made in 1998 by the Sinkmeister? They're also excited about the fact that fix and intelligence appear in the same sentence in the memo. They have to Dowdify (ignore context) in order to make that one stick.

If this is all they got . . . they got bupkis.

You could be right, but did they not just find some of these non-existant WMD's missing a few days ago? I think that the general public, not we political junkies are more than tired of hearing about this crap. We are there and I don't think that anyone is interested in appearing to not support our troops and that includes their Commander in Chief. I think the Dems are just trying to stay relevent. Gosh I have even heard a slightly different tone emmanating from the MSM's. A somewhat softer tone, the NY Times has to lay off 200 people, gee I wonder why? Could it be no one is reading their crap that they pass off as news? We are winning, we just have to stay the course and be patient!

Gonna be a hot summer for sure.

Scanning back thru the thread I see i missed your comment:

How do we know that the memo is not forged?

I wouldn't have an answer for that other than a Brit Major media Outline published it as authetic news.

Well until last September CBS was considered a legitimate media source as well.

I tend to hope the Dems DO proceed with this impeachment talk. It will be quickly seen as desparation and also tell us that the libs plan to continue their failed policies of negativism and smears.

And it will REALLY anger our base. There are several million in the middle that will see the Dems as talking' out their butt, per usual, and won't want to be associated with loons.

I agree and I want Howard Dean to bring his act to my state so he can be pelted with vegetables!

"He then says he can't think of any nobler reason for Felt to act as he then did!"

He may be correct, without realizing it; there is NO noble reason to act as he did.

Like a rat trying to escape the trap, Democrats are squealing in pain over their predicament. Notice that the ethical issues on the GOP travel expenses from only a few weeks ago are all past tense? It's because too many Democrats were caught in the web of their own making.

I agree with another post too. It may turn out all this is an effort to sanitize Hillary's run for office in 2008. But, it also has the potential of helping them win in 2006. (Another aspect of showing how desperate they are. Every time Democrats fail to gain seats, they get further behind and less successful.)

I think all this proves is that they were gaming out scenarios, I mean Hussain had kicked out the weapons inspectors and was a general pain, how many sanctions could we allow him to violate? I don't think it really has any teeth. The Dems are grasping at straws again.

Don't omit Iraq's continued firing at our planes as we were enforced the no-fly zone. At some point they could very easily have gotten lucky and shot one down. I hate to think what might have happened to one of our pilots had that happened.

Obviously, some people don't remember it but the situation was intolerable and needed to be resolved. That's why even Clinton had regime change as a priority, and left it to his successor, Bush, to resolve. Typically, Clinton just talked about it, while Bush did something about it. It's called "leadership."

The dems may be grasping at straws but the MSM is reporting those straws as real. There is no viable objective reporting of the lunatic behavior of democrats. Even the Dean coverage is used to spin dean as a leftist and contrast other democrats as centrist.

Never mind that the MSM has yet to understand that the mainstream MEANS conservative.

Kerry is going to request Bush be impeached and everywhere outside the USA they are reporting it as serious.

Could it be that the MSM is just that desperate to portray tension in order to keep viewers? DOOOOOM INEVITABLE!!!film at 11.

Clinton was a coward and a dupe, he wouldnn't have done anything if they had shot one of our planes down.
