The wind has to be blowing in just the right direction for me to get his show. I tend to believe his accounting of the events, but the whole thing still seems pretty ridiculous, or maybe after 8 years of Clinton I have simply become immune to impropriety. I still don't see why Nixon was brought down by it! It simply does not make sense.
I think Dean had a history of not showing up - or running and hiding from comments made by Liddy.

He need to quit having fun and BE REMOVED FROM THE SENATE. Now is the perfect time to go forward with the call for him to be removed.

They need to stick to talking about rollerblading, Howard Stern and Desperate Housewives, all favorite things of theirs. Now this is stuff that they clearly would know something about!
I didn't watch it (only saw a moment or two) but he was talking about breast cancer. He was talking about some young lady - a friend, relative, I don't know - who had died from it. Maybe he was promoting fund raising?
Oh, I know there's no way they'll actually get an impeachment. Even if they could get Articles of Impeachment out of the House, there's no way that 2/3 of the Senate would vote to convict. There simply aren't enough Senate RINOs to make that happen.
What they can do, however, is create a great big media circus/feeding frenzy which will derail or seriously hamper the White House efforts to wage the judge confirmation battle, sell Social security reform, prosecute the WOT, etc.
Additionally, they could hope to inflict some more political damage on the President and undermine his support, as well as start to lay the foundation of their efforts to shape his legacy as that of being the worst and most corrupt president in American history.
What do they have that they have not already tried? They got nothin! That's why their claims get more and more ridiculous. I think that DeLay and Frist are not going to listen to their rantiings. The Rino's are cowards and will go with whomever they think will win.

Obviously, some of them think they see something in this Downing Street memo nonsense. They're going all out to force this thing onto the front pages without looking like they're doing so.
FWIW, I agree with you that "they got nothin'." But they're so consumed with hate for GWB, so caught up in their cozy little inside the Beltway left-wing echo chamber, that they're looking at this and seeing gold, while the rest of us see it's really a spray-painted turd. I think the public will have ZERO patience for a sham impeachment show, in the middle of a war. All they'll succeed in doing if they go forward wiith this is to push the President's approval ratings up well over 60 percent.
Someone needs to vett the memo, it could be forged! I don't trust them anymore.

I suggest we put em in a 6 foot hole. The point is, it doesn't matter where you put them, the left will not be satisfied. Shutting down Gitmo does nothing. All it does is shift the target.
