New hire is not right fit for NBA

Stern's new right hand man (pun intended) is Matthew Dowd. Who is he? He's a founding partner in a new Austin consulting concern called ViaNovo and a contributing analyst on Fox News. His last big job, however, was as chief strategist for the outrageously successful re-election bid of George W. Bush and Dick Cheney. So what's a guy with Dowd's background doing in an NBA locker room? Stern wants Dowd to do for the NBA what Dowd did for the GOP in 2004. Stern wants him to turn a sow's ear into a silk purse. Michael Moore! Help!

This is just garbage.
The guys drooling liberalism renders him unable to think coherently.
His gripes are just kind of unhinged rantings that don't even seem to have a point.
If he writes other articles in this kind of unbalanced state then they should seriously think about an upgrade.

Writing like this explains why the Snooze has to lie about its circulation to keep clueless companies buying ads in their rag.
The only good thing about that paper is that it makes a decent gardening mulch when shredded.

99% of what Blackistone writes is race baiting propaganda. The other 1% is just crap. He's a bitter liberal fool.

I'm sure Blackistone was critical that Larry O'Brien (head of the Democrat National Committee) was recruited to become Commissioner of the NBA. /sarcasm>

Stern is a lefty too but at least he knows to go with a winner...Dowd deserves credit for his 15 point bounce swerve he threw on the media and Dems that i think had a lot to do with us winning in Nov

If he was a Democrat, Blackistone would love him. Expect a big campaign to throw Dowd out of his job. That's the way the Left in this country works.

So, all he's saying is Bush won, right?

Kevin Blackistone probably doesn't have an original thought in his head about sports and resorts to "the evil Republican" mantra in order to pander to his shrinking readership, who will roll around on this dead fish because they like the smell.
How can a sportswriter in Dallas, Texas not have a million other things to write about that are sports oriented?
Kevin Blackistone has thrown out another "bait and hate" statement that he can do with impunity because he is a minority.
Kevin Blackistone, you need to grow up.

In that sentence, yes he is saying that. The seeking of Michael Moore's help is asinine, IMHO.
To: MassRepublicanFlyersFan
Just thought it was a tad strange to say "outragerously successful," as if winning were somehow unseemly.

Well, Kevin, did you seriously think David Stern would want to hire a media consultant from the Gore campaign, or the Kerry campaign, or even the DNC? (ROFLMBO!!!) No, of course not. Because David Stern wants somebody who knows what he's doing.

The majority of sports journalists are liberal. They're the ones that drove Rush Limbaugh from the NFL commentary business after he made a controversial comment about Donovan McNabb. They don't want any one to intrude on their exclusive club.
(Denny Crane: "Sometimes you can only look for answers from God and failing that... and Fox News".)

Who knows? Maybe he meant it sarcastically.

I don't think Dowd will be in all that many NBA locker rooms. He is probably political cover for all the drug/steroid trouble the NBA has. Sort of like Limbaugh hiring a liberal defense attorney.
