The storm-chaser types are beyond enthusiastic about what they do. We met one in El Dorado KS in April who evidently was involved with taking people out to see tornados and storms for profit.

Just mentioning the possibility of a storm induced him to bring out the latest charts, weather maps etc. He got so excited his eyes practically glazed over, LOL!

I think there has to be an easier way to make a buck, but to each his own..

I just want to know if Scott Peterson (Laci and Conner's murderer) is still in San Quentin.

He's there, and he'll be executed there...probably about the year 2023. ;)

One of these days I hope to take one of those tours; would probably rather hook up with an individual to share costs.

Actually the posts on the stormtrack board are going to start really slowing down the next few hours, as they'll all be out chasing.

Did you see on the storm chasing board they said Nebraska already had a small tornado and its not even in the risk area..Also someone said N Oklahoma could be included in the risk area soon. Someone even mentioned my neck of the woods..NW TX into SE Ok. But the preferred chaser location seems to be Kansas.

I pray everyone stays safe and that all the sirens are working.

Thing to remember about chasers is they'll take fewer tornadoes and better visibility (isolated low-precipitation storms) over a lot of tornadoes in a place where they're rain-wrapped and can't be seen (and the hail is bad.)

A lot of chasers have had their cars trashed by hail this year.

Thanks. We've got thunderstorm warnings for tonight, but nothing major. My niece is in Kansas City though and says they're expecting some pretty heavy storms. They decided to postpone an evening outing.

I get off at 4pm, if anything forms here in the DFW area will try to get some digipics to post tommorow.

We benefit greatly by the chasers having this hobby, there is nothing like trained eyes relaying accurate info to the news stations. May they stay safe also.

At times like these the $25 weather Radio seems like a great bargain.

Tornado Watch for Kansas out now, cells starting near Topeka.

We are having a monsoon in Chicago area right now. Lots of lightening and thunder, heavy rain some wind gusts.

I thought they said possibility for storms this evening, so wasn't expecting one this early.

Interestingly a record of sorts was set in Oklahoma this year; this was the first year with accurate records (since 1950) where there wasn't a SINGLE tornado reported in the state in the Month of May.

It's Bush's fault. He's using Rovian tactics to suppress tornadic activity so as to hide the threat posed by his inaction on Kyoto.

Usual "June Gloom" here in coastal Orange County, CA. The sun pops out for about an hour in the afternoon and then the marine layer brings the clouds in again.

They said PM Thunderstorms, I always assume late PM.

Chicago, here. No joke about the Monsoon. It looked so nice out, had some sandwiches made and the chair in the car. About to sit back in the park and do some studying for my CCNA and now this. It happened so fast. Oh well...

Thanks for the heads up. We'll be okay. There's a clear view of the South and West horizons from my son's house.

I've got a healthy respect for Midwest Weather events, but will take extra precautions with my two precious little farmers.
