Jackson Jurors Go Home Without Verdict
By LINDA DEUTSCH
SANTA MARIA, Calif. (AP) - The child molestation case against Michael Jackson went to the jury Friday after the defense begged the panel to acquit the singer, portraying Jackson as a victim of grifters trying to pull "the biggest con of their careers."
Prosecutors painted a vastly different picture during their closing argument - one of Jackson as a serial child molester and his Neverland Ranch as a predator's lair.
Jurors spent about two hours deliberating before going home for the weekend.
The jury got the case on a day marked by an impassioned plea by defense attorney Thomas Mesereau Jr. for Jackson's acquittal. He said the pop star is not the "monster" that prosecutors have portrayed, and he said the accuser and his family fabricated the molestation allegations to take advantage of Jackson.
"They are trying to profit from Michael Jackson. They think they have pulled it off. They are just waiting for one thing - your verdict."
He added: "If you look in your hearts do you believe Michael Jackson is evil in that way? Is it even possible? It really is not."
During his rebuttal, Senior Deputy District Attorney Ron Zonen sought to answer the defense lawyer's question.
"Why would Mr. Jackson do it? Because he could," Zonen said. "This child was in love with him. This child would do anything he said."

Someone tell me this guy did not actually destroy his nose on purpose to impersonate this freak.
Reminds me of the freaks who sobbed when Kerry lost.
Looks like makeup.
But he may have destroyed his mind on purpose to impersonate this freak.
"Because I could..." Toon's motto...
Yes but look at the bottom of his nose, it looks like it is real, that his entire nose is cut off and there is hole. And yes, his mind is destroyed. Wouldn`t it be something if MJ is convicted? Then he would be walking around looking like the worlds most famous convicted child molestor. Not good for job interviews.
Ever hear Brian Whitman do his impressions on Sean Hannity's radio show? He starts out doing a Michael Jackson voice that starts drifting into--Bubba Clinton's
voice! "That's horrifying. What's wrong with sharing your bed with a child? Horrifying. I'm going to say this once again: I did not have sexual relations with...Oh..."
The jury was having a good laugh before they went home, what ever that means?

-->The images of Kerry's little lambs falling down and lefter, sobbing, kwying... the memory is seared into my mind! I think it was Dec'69, i was sitting on this rowboat, on the border of a blue and green state...I could see the them..No one knew i was there... I have a voting ballot a secret agent once gave me... :P
A couple of jurors were laughing during the playing of the freak show's video when MJ was describing his party plans for celebrity animals. Jackson also describes how he plays music for his plants because "they have feelings and grow better with music". That could be what they were laughing about at the end since the tape had just ended.
