I've never had to wait more than 20 minutes to vote that I can remember. Of course, I tend to live in republican areas where we have responsible government that meets the needs of its people, for example by providing enough polling places and voting machines.
Why are so many democrat governments incapable of properly running elections? Why is it only in heavily democrat jurisdictions that the public democrat-run boards of election can't seem to provide adequate polling places?
I never had to take time off to vote. I just show up when the polls open at 7. Of course now I take time off because I work the polls. But that's different.
