Hillary Hits Hollywood for $$

Less than a week after her finance director was acquitted on charges that he cooked the books of a gala Hollywood fundraiser five years ago, New York Sen. Hillary Clinton was back in Tinseltown putting the touch on filmdom's movers and shakers.

According to Daily Variety, Sen. Clinton started yesterday evening with a "big ticket" campaign event at the home of Warner Bros. chief operating officer Alan and Cindy Horn.

The event was hosted by the familiar circle of Hollywood Democrats, including Lyn and Norman Lear, Michele and Rob Reiner, Carol and Frank Biondi and Jennifer Perry and Andy Spahn.

Next stop: A fundraising dinner with Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid to help fill the coffers of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.

Then Mrs. Clinton was off to the Hollywood Hills home of Roland Emmerich for another campaign cash-bash. This one was hosted by Lindsay Lohan, Jake Gyllenhaal, Scarlett Johansson and Christina Aguilera.

Ostensibly, the three events were raising funds for Mrs. Clinton's 2006 Senate re-election bid. But Variety noted: "The trip is also seen as laying groundwork for a 2008 presidential bid."

Sen. Clinton and her husband have always been huge favorites with the Hollywood crowd, which turned out its biggest stars for the August 2000 gala.

Held at the Brentwood estate of radio mogul Ken Roberts, the Clintons and their financial backers were serenaded by Cher, Diana Ross, Michael Bolton and other top flight talent.

Mrs. Clinton's finance chairman, David Rosen, was acquitted last week on charges that he underreported the costs of the event to federal regulators.

Cher, Diana Ross, Michael Bolton! Top flight talent? Apparently someone with a tin ear and a record collection that hasn't updated since the 1980's is writing this column.

At one time Cher was considered big (back when she had a variety hour with Sonny), but the other two have never been "top flight" and Cher was at best borderline if that.

No wonder poor Howie Dean can't get any money for the DNC!

I actually like some of Diana Ross' and Cher's old stuff, but, old is the operative word here. Top flight no longer applies. Has beens is a more accurate description.

I agree, those two were popular in their day (and Cher's day was considerably longer than Ross'), but neither were really ever "top flight".

Lindsay Lohan dropped a bunch of weight recently, maybe she can help Hill-da-beast with her cankle problem.

Hope someone is taking notes so that we'll remember all these H'weirdos that support the wicked witch of the north. Also, heard on Bill Bennett's radio program this a.m. that a 10-year investigation of Mike Espy, the clintoonian Secy of Agriculture, has wrapped up about his lying to the authorities and general wrongdoing. That report is due to list wrongdoings and a lot of names from the clintoonian that will hurt the wicked witch's '08 presidential aspirations. Apparently, the demoncRATS pressed to not get the report released to the general public but to suppress the name listing, but some congressional pubbies with spines refused. Should be interesting!

...that a 10-year investigation ...

That about sums it up. It took how many years for the Buddist Temple thing to come to trial? at least 6

By the time its concluded that the 'Rats are a lying pack of scum (even though the crimes were clearly discovered and closely examined years ago), the MSM quickly declares that this is old news and we never hear of it again.
