Great research and a great post.
A bunch of phonies, the Democrats. They are really stretching it this time. The American memory isn't that short.

I haven't seen an "actual" memo yet though. They're waiting for the ink to dry.
To: torchthemummy
Great post!
I bookmarked it for my use, with your permission, of course.
Thanks a lot.

"That's because they believed the "facts and intelligence" that had been "fixed around the policy". Dubya and the boys sure suckered them fools -- and quite a few others." -AlanDownunder
So you're saying that Dubya somehow rigged the intel before being elected?
Sorry, after the Gulf War ended, there were several hundred tons of Sarin BVX and mustard gas left to be destroyed.
The UN was monitoring the stockpiles.
In 1996, the 'inspectors' were kicked out, the stockpiles remained.
Now you tell me, from 1996 to 2003, where did the weapons go?

From the memo:
For instance, what were the consequences, if Saddam used WMD on day one, or if Baghdad did not collapse and urban warfighting began? You said that Saddam could also use his WMD on Kuwait. Or on Israel, added the Defence Secretary. The participants clearly believed Saddam had WMD
The Foreign Secretary thought the US would not go ahead with a military plan unless convinced that it was a winning strategy. On this, US and UK interests converged. But on the political strategy, there could be US/UK differences. Despite US resistance, we should explore discreetly the ultimatum. Saddam would continue to play hard-ball with the UN. This was preparation, not cast in concrete as Hanoi Boy & frieds say.
John Scarlett assessed that Saddam would allow the inspectors back in only when he thought the threat of military action was real. The root of the problem - the inspectors could only get in if we have 250,000 troops on their doorstep. Even then they harassed the inspectors and refused overflights. He was not cooperating.

Even if such a memo exists, basically what it purports to be is a document in which some third party makes a claim, the way I understand it.

Uh, has anyone told JF'nK that even if Bush were to be impeached and removed from office, that he still wouldn't get to be president?

"Hey John, how about signing Form 180?"
Didn't you hear? He did sign it. He just will not send it in.

As the Democrats are so fond of pointing out, John O'Neil's records do not matter. John O'Neil is not a candidate for any public office at this time. John O'Neil is not guilty of Traitorous activities. John O'Neil did not bribe, cajole or make political promises to get his records erased and or hidden.
How many lies do you think O'Neill's records will show about his service?
I'll place my bets on no lies in John O'Neil's Military records.

I am glad you posted how ridiculous this article is. I was directed to this column and thought I must have missed something. Much ado about nothing, IMHO.

I am about fed up with these folks who must create turmoil in order to gain power. It is going to bite 'em in the butt somehow.
To: jennyjenny
Didn't you hear. He did call a press conference to announce he had signed it..
He said his staff was examining the signed form 180 to see if it needed modifications before mailing in in.
But now when asked, Kerry can now say he did sign form 180... He just never sent it in...
People were demanding he sign it.. they didn't demand he send it in....
