The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

MIRAMAR, Fla. -- Despite the massive federal, state and local law enforcement effort to stop terrorists from entering the United States, there is no strong evidence of how well it is working.

Many experts are concerned that there are plenty of terrorists or sympathizers already in the country who have been here for years. Some are even citizens.

The Sept. 11, 2001, hijackers were the first wave and now the increasing number of arrests seems to signal a second wave of terrorism in South Florida.

That Washington Times/Sleeper Cell report is extrememly interesting. I found the following troubling since we have suspected and now there is fact to prove that the Pakistani Intelligence is corrupt.

"The situation is complicated -- and made more dangerous -- by the fact that the training camp attended by Hayat was apparently overseen by a Pakistani militant leader long associated with the activities of jihadi groups in Kashmir -- the Muslim-majority region divided and disputed between Pakistan and majority-Hindu India.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman Khalil is leader of the jihadi group once known as Harkat-ul-Mujahedin -- set up with the support of Pakistan's military and intelligence apparatus to wage a low-intensity war against the Indian authorities in their part of Kashmir.

According to Abbas, who profiled the militant leader in his recent book "Pakistan's Drift into Extremism," Khalil "has been closely aligned to Pakistan's intelligence services."

Abbas said that despite several requests from the United States very little action was ever taken against him. He was briefly detained and questioned last year and has been under house arrest, but was released earlier this year and has now vanished.

"He still has acquiescence (in his activities) and sympathy, if not outright support, from the intelligence agencies," said Abbas.

Alarm out for missing truck with fertilizer

Arkansas security officials reported information concerning a missing J&M Transport truck with a load of fertilizer on June 1. J&M is based in Cabot, Ark.

Randy McDaniel, 50, received a 51,000-pound load of urea fertilizer in Little Rock on May 25. McDaniel never reached the intended destination in Stuttgart, Ark., according to Highway ISAC and Mark Tabor of the Transportation Security Administration, who is based at Little Rock National Airport.

The fertilizer and vehicle are still missing. The driver has not made contact with his girlfriend or family members, officials said. They noted that former President Clinton is scheduled to arrive in Little Rock June 3.

Urea fertilizer can be used to make explosives.

The missing truck is a red 1996 Volvo with Arkansas plate F254068. It has a J&M Transport logo on the door, and a white trailer with Oklahoma plate 2106FB.

Man accused of selling secrets to Iraq says he's U.S. agent

A federal judge has ruled that a Greenfield truck driver accused of being an Iraqi agent presents a "clear and present danger" to the public and should not be freed before his trial later this month.

Shaaban Hafiz Ahmad Ali Shaaban, 52, appeared in federal court in Indianapolis for a hearing yesterday and spoke for more than three hours.

He told the judge he's really a US secret agent and claims prosecutors have mixed him up with his now-dead twin brother.

Investigators say Shaaban is a seasoned intelligence officer trained by the Soviet KGB and has at least 13 aliases. The indictment alleges he traveled to Baghdad in 2002 and offered to sell officials the names of US intelligence operatives in Iraq for millions of dollars.

I am a staunch Republican, and many of GWB's actions trouble me as well. Not sealing the borders. Giving extensive foreign aid while our own people go wanting. Our citizens are losing jobs, healthcare benefits, security- our children may well be approaching a (necessary)draft....money for Africa again. What about our elderly having to choose between their heart meds and a meal?

I read a list of our war dead the other night. It listed an 18 year old girl killed in an attack by IED on her Humvee. I was so very saddened and thought- an 18 year old CHILD defending me ( an adult) and my family....

While I 100% agree with the fact that the common folks such as you and I will be the collateral damage, I'm not so sure that those in power will see the next hit before it comes.

Remember on 9/11/01, when the WTC and Pentagon were hit, GWB was in a 2nd grade classroom. The fact that they are as blind as the rest of us give me a sadistic sense of satisfaction.

I think that's what REALLY scares the politicos. Those slime balls are as vulnerable as we are during the initial phase of the next attack.

Before they can be safe they have to get into these high dollar redoubts they've created.
