The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

Threat Matrix - Daily Terrorism Threat
Threat Matrix: U.S. Terrorism
Expert: Al-Qaida Has Presence In South Florida
Full Story

MIRAMAR, Fla. -- Despite the massive federal, state and local law enforcement effort to stop terrorists from entering the United States, there is no strong evidence of how well it is working.

Many experts are concerned that there are plenty of terrorists or sympathizers already in the country who have been here for years. Some are even citizens.

The Sept. 11, 2001, hijackers were the first wave and now the increasing number of arrests seems to signal a second wave of terrorism in South Florida.

Hayat was interviewed by the FBI and denied any connection to terrorism before being allowed to fly back to California.

Do they truly expect a terrorist to admit their connections and intentions when questioned? How reliable is it to depend upon the terrorist honor system for true answers from people whose only objective is to kill us all. It's political correctness (aw, don't offend CAIR or the ACLU, let the man through) showing its 100% vulnerability rate.

The man, described as Middle Eastern and in his mid-30s...

Darned profiling - picking on those poor ME types for no reason at all (cough cough). When will those in charge actually get a clue (when the train goes in the water like this man planned??????) Naw, that would be PROFILING and we could never ever do that no matter how many Americans got killed or injured as a result of ME person(s) instigating an incident, attack or action. Must be coincidence, ya think?

Public outcry would be entirely too loud for our even our spineless politicians to ignore.

Our spineless politicians are too busy calling each other names and looking pretty for the Sunday morning talking head shows to affect serious issues involving citizens. In the past few days there's been one too many people threatening the American way of life (doctor - martial arts teacher - 4 people in Lodi for example) who live here, but have allegiance to the ME. If our politicians were on the ball, they would put concerns about our safety on the top burner, but instead we hear nothing from any of them. Maybe it's only 6 people, but it didn't take much more than that to bring down the Twin Towers.

many illegals working and setting up jobs for newly entering illegals.

More instances of hiding in plain sight. Law enforcement people laid off their jobs, yet immigration works short staffed and the illegals have the run of our land. Common sense seems to be lacking and this country could do so much better if the powers that be really put a mind to making our country much more safe and secure. If we can give countries billions of dollars and they hate us and harbor terrorists, imagine what we could do investing in our own country and people, providing jobs and real national security.

I'd like to know how the people in high security government offices who have hired foreigners who infiltrate our nation's secrets and send them back to be used against us retain their jobs? They give all government workers a black eye IMHO. It is said government workers' jobs are safe for their lifetime. It's time they came into modern times and that "job security" was re-evaluated. Foreign nationals have no business whatsoever anywhere near national secrets or the computer control of them. Off soapbox.

I'm afraid the only thing that may wake them up will be another attack.

Wishing our politicians did not consider us expendable... If there's another attack, our nation's politicians certainly will be via votes of angry citizens.

"TB seen in many aliens, study says"

By Jennifer Harper
THE WASHINGTON TIMES

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "A multidrug-resistant tuberculosis known as MDR-TB is persistent in California, primarily among its "foreign-born" population, and has serious financial implications for the state's public-health system, federal and state health officials said yesterday.
"Treatment for MDR-TB is very expensive -- ranging from $200,000 to $1.2 million per person, over an 18- to 24-month time period," said Dr. Reuben Granich, a lead investigator for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, during a press conference in the District yesterday."

Dr. Madelelene Cosman outlines how the horrendous diseases that long ago America had conquered are resurging. Horrific diseases common in Third World poverty and medical ignorance suddenly are appearing in American emergency rooms and medical offices. Along with the visible invasion of Illegal Aliens across our borders is an invisible invasion of deadly diseases.

"A New Yorker Kind of Guy"
The American Prowler ^ | 6/9/2005 | Ben Stein

Posted on 06/08/2005 10:23:26 PM PDT by nickcarraway

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "If you wanted to see the perfect example of the ethical and moral collapse of the Mainstream Media, you could not do better than a long article in the New Yorker of May 23, 2005. The article is entitled, "The Spy Who Loved Us." Written by a teacher at the University of Albany, named Thomas Bass, it's about a man named Pham Xuan An. Now very old, An was -- among many other things -- a correspondent in Saigon during the Vietnam War for Time magazine. He was apparently considered a particularly brilliant and well-informed correspondent and very well liked by his colleagues in the Western press corps during the war.

He was also a Communist spy, working for the North Vietnamese, informing them of what he knew about American military plans, troop movements, political agendas.

He even helped the Communists win large battles by directing Vietcong and North Vietnamese troops against American and South Vietnamese forces. He helped plan the Tet Offensive of 1968, including helping the man who planned the attack on the U.S. Embassy. This was the offensive where thousands of innocent civilians were massacred by the Communists."

"UN alert as nuclear plans go missing
Blueprints disclosing key steps to build a bomb feared up for sale"

Ian Traynor in Vienna
Thursday June 9, 2005
The Guardian

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Electronic drawings that give comprehensive details of how to build and test equipment essential for making nuclear bombs have vanished and could be put up for sale on the international black market, according to UN investigators.

The blueprints, running to hundreds of pages, show how to make centrifuges for enriching uranium. In addition, the investigators have been unable to trace key components for uranium centrifuge rigs and fear that drawings for a nuclear warhead have been secreted away and could be for sale.

Inspectors at the UN's nuclear authority, the International Atomic Energy Agency, have been investigating the worst nuclear smuggling racket ever uncovered, headed by the Pakistani scientist Abdul Qadeer Khan. The operation was discovered two years ago to be selling sensitive nuclear technology to Libya and Iran.

A senior official said several sets of blueprints for uranium centrifuges - the so-called P-1 and more advanced P-2 systems which were peddled by the Khan network - have gone missing."
