The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

MIRAMAR, Fla. -- Despite the massive federal, state and local law enforcement effort to stop terrorists from entering the United States, there is no strong evidence of how well it is working.

Many experts are concerned that there are plenty of terrorists or sympathizers already in the country who have been here for years. Some are even citizens.

The Sept. 11, 2001, hijackers were the first wave and now the increasing number of arrests seems to signal a second wave of terrorism in South Florida.

Possible Airline Hijacking

News Break - Report that a Virgin Airline Flight 45 from London to NY is sending out a signal that the flight has been hijacked. It is approx. 10:25 a.m. EST on Friday June 3rd. The flight has been diverted to an airport in Canada. There has been communications with the pilot who is saying that the signal is a manfunction and that the cockpit is secured.

I will be checking for official news reports and posting a link as soon as I find one.

Jet's Signal Being Investigated

A New York-bound Virgin Atlantic flight is transmitting a hijacking code, although the company says it is a mechanical error. Canadian fighter jets have been sent to intercept the plane, which has been diverted to Canada.

Hey WCG....still being stated that this is a false alarm....let's hope so. There was a report last night on the news that 10 French fighter jets had been doing maneuvers with the Canadian navy off the coast of NY. These French Fighter jets are now on the ground in Atlantic City, NJ...because the French pilots don't have enough money to refuel.

When I heard this reported last night it just didn't "feel" right....just sounds very odd. An additional report this morning stated that these French Fighter jets were on their way to an air show....so it all just makes me wonder...what in the world are a foreign countries fighter jets doing in our air space???

How could they not have enough money to refuel? It's not like they have to go down to the nearest Exxon and put it on Cirac's credit card. That's bizzare.

You should have seen one of the workers at the Atlantic City airport where these jets are parked. He was stating that the jet fuel is very expensive, and that the pilots were taking out their credit cards to pay for the fuel.

Ummmm.....I know that it is France and that could make this scenario amusing....but wouldn't some jet fuel for 10 fighter jets be a matter of a phone call from the French government to our government???!!!!

Seriously though I would think DHS would check this out pronto. What airshow? Background check on the pilots etc.

The French planes are here for the air show at McGuire this Nine French fighter jets and A French weather plane had to make emergency landings at Atlantic City International Airport. Bad weather prevented them from flying back to their aircraft carrier, which is off the east coast. They landed because they were running light on fuel.

Now the problem is everyone is waiting for officials from the French embassy to show up with money to buy more gas.

The French planes are here for the air show at McGuire this coming weekend. We look forward to seeing them there..
