The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

MIRAMAR, Fla. -- Despite the massive federal, state and local law enforcement effort to stop terrorists from entering the United States, there is no strong evidence of how well it is working.

Many experts are concerned that there are plenty of terrorists or sympathizers already in the country who have been here for years. Some are even citizens.

The Sept. 11, 2001, hijackers were the first wave and now the increasing number of arrests seems to signal a second wave of terrorism in South Florida.

The supposed chief of Al-Qaïda in Saudi Arabia killed in Riyadh

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Two U.S. Border Patrol agents who were shot and wounded this week near Nogales are recovering at a hospital following surgery, a Border Patrol spokeswoman said.
Border Patrol Agent Andrea Zortman would not name the agents or the hospital where they were taken, each with a single gunshot wound to the leg. Zortman cited an ongoing investigation and the agents' safety.

Both agents are men, assigned to the Nogales station, one for nine years and the other for six, Zortman said."

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "The arrest came after witnesses saw a man board a bus following an attack of a Navy enlisted man who was pushed to the ground from behind and repeatedly kicked about the head about 3:15 p.m., Hastings said.

The victim remains hospitalized and has undergone reconstructive surgery.

There have been five other attacks since April 5 in the same area of Third Avenue and C Street. Two other victims also were hospitalized.

All of the attacks happened in the midafternoon on crowded sidewalks, Hastings said. The victims were surprised from behind, pushed to the sidewalk and kicked. Few words were spoken by the attacker beforehand.

Passers-by have been unable to intercede because of the violent nature of the attacks, Hastings said.

All victims have been white males. The suspect is black.

"We are investigating this as a hate crime," Hastings said."
