I often wonder what FDR would have done if Hitler had (instead of declaring war on America after Pearl Harbor) said - "We are shocked, shocked I tell ya. We love America and knew nothing of the Japaneses attack."

The stock answer is that during WW II we were all united in a common cause: to counter an imminent threat from a barbaric enemy and defeat the only genuine “Axis of Evil” that ever existed.

Too long to read the whole thing, and I already know the answer: The liberals wanted to send our boys to die for Uncle Joe. That is why they liked WW2 and have been against every other war.

it is useful to ask: why do historians, pundits, journalists, politicians the world over, and even Hollywood, celebrate World War II

Easy: Communist infiltration of the US media, entertainment, and academia. Hollywood and the anti-semitic elite were against WW II until 'Uncle Joe' was attacked, then they were four-square for defeating Hitler.

After that, they continued to parrot whatever the Politburo line was about Korea, Vietnam, Mideast, etc.

If Hitler had not invaded the Soviet Union, we'd probably have never entered the fight, and if there was still a United States, it would be an awfully lonely democracy.

What has really changed is the media coverage, there were anti-war protests and crap like that during WW1 and WW2, but it was not covered by the media. The media back then respected this country and welcomed good news, todays media if they can't condem the US for something then they will make something up to condem us (i.e. the whole Kouran(sp?) thing). Todays media likes bad news because they think that is what sells. Don't believe me? watch you local news broadcast tonight you will be lucky if there is more than 1 feel good story, but there will be pleanty of doom and gloom stories.

Great article! We are surrounded by idiots; useful and otherwise. Wake up America see liberalism for what it is and what it does. If you want a good example come to Buffalo.

They are a class of willful, nihilistic parasites.

That about perfectly sums up my thoughts on every communist, socialist, progressive, or whatever the hell the call themselves today, in the world.

WWII was the last declared war in the US. The five declared wars of the US, have all been "popular" wars that enjoyed the support of the people and were preceded by a strong incident that rallied the public desire for armed intervention.

If a war is not "popular" enough to be declared a war before fighting begins, it is doubtful that it ever will become "popular".
