You hit the nail on the head by saying "to put our feelings about his story aside" and the fact that "Woodward and Bernstein have made a fortune off of this story for years." It is very expensive to take care of an elderly person with Alzheimer's. Especially if you get some help, which you need to do if you want to remain sane yourself. My father had Alzheimer's and my mother went through hell taking care of him until his death. I helped as much as I could, but I worked and had a family at the time.

I don't see myself doing what they are doing, but there is nothing illegal about it.

Felt had an agreement with Woodward and Bernstein and they kept their part (I am addressing this narrow issue and not defending the story) and Felt should have released them and not sold the story.

I agree that questioning his care and living situation is not appropriate.

BTW, the daughter's lawyer is quoted as comparing his client to Amber Frey and said Frey fell into a story and is making money.

That is absurd. Frey played an active investigative role once she had suspicions about Peterson.

The one in this comparison who fell into a story is Joan by virtue of her father. She did nothing to contribute to the story and that comparison is so revealing of a level of arrogance and dismissal of the "little people".
