This is Shiavo redux--people sticking their noses in personal family business. It's a new form of conservatism.

Watergate is hardly "personal family business" although there was at some level of it Mafia involvement, so you could say that was "family business".

This thing played out to a genocide in Cambodia and a genocide in Viet Nam conducted by the Communist victors.

I just can't help coloring my perspective on the whole business with those memories.

You're absolutely right. And it infuriates me. The nerve of these people to butt their noses in and make judgements based on absolutely nothing. It's appalling, and so counter to what they pretend to stand for.
