I have an Oxford Dictionary... big old thing, about 30years old.

Here is what it gives as the definition of TERRORISM:

".... practice of using terror inspiring methods of governing or of securing political or other ends.

For those ignorant of the meaning of TERROR... here is what the book describes TERROR!!

Terror: EXTREME FEAR!!!!

That settles the meaning of terror and terrorism for me.

Been speaking English all my life( 78 years+) and have found that the OXFORD DiCTIONARY is the best one of them all.

Precisely. However the interpretation can differ. What is extreme, what goals does it have etc. Besides sometimes the deffinicion has to be rewritten in order to meet the todays meening. However I find it very delicate matter. Greetings.
