Every reasonable person who reads news from different media is aware that in Chechnya there were, are, and most likely will be some Al-Qaida operatives. A common fact. You must be also aware that if it weren't for Russia and it's totaly unprofessional actions most of the todays terrorists wouldn't even think of blewing themselves up in the middle of a crowd of innocent civilians.

Okay, so you're another apologist for the poor down and out terrorists. FACT, Chechens were trained in guerrilla warfare in Afghanistan during the eighties. FACT, MANY of them were and are members of al-Qaeda. Indeed, outside of the Saudis they likely make up the largest contingent of al-Qaeda.

I grant you the Russians do not have a professional army, and that caused many of the problems, but to say they were responsible for the Chechen War is a bald faced lie. Neither did America have a professional army until the late eighties, and expecting the Russians to measure up to them is asking a lot.

I don't know what you mean. By whom? USA? And I don't know how you can mix terrorism with guerrilla warfare (especially during Chechen War I)

MANY of them were and are members of al-QaedaIf you consider all military groups of religious background as members of al-Qaeda than you are probably right.

Indeed, outside of the Saudis they likely make up the largest contingent of al-Qaeda.

I find it unlikely. The charakter of Chechen islam is way different...Did you know for instance that in Chechenya women have a very high status? During the I war there was some intense fighting with russian army but no terrorism. They were fighting for freedom. The Poles understand that well.

Don't compare those two armies. I mean US from 80's and todays Russian military.
