TAMPA, Fla. -- In an attack that's rattled even veteran detectives, police in Florida said a 7-year-old boy has confessed to beating his baby sister to death.
Investigators said the boy was jealous of the attention the infant was getting and upset by her crying. They said the boy beat the baby with his fists, feet and a two-by-four.
The attack occurred in Tampa, while the boy was visiting his father.
Police said the father and his girlfriend were outside with neighbors when the boy came out and told them the baby was "bleeding." They said the seven-month-old had a bloody nose, and wasn't breathing. The parents rushed the baby to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
A spokesman said detectives noted they'd never seen someone so young "show so much violence and so little remorse."
I also agree that sometimes divorce is BEST for the child. But in divorce, both parents have to put aside their feelings and do what's best for the child. Just be honest and not use the child as a pawn. If there are legitamite accusations and concerns fine, but revenge for hurt feelings are unhealthy for the child, AND for the devorced parent(s)
I sure you know what I mean without me having to go into detail.
Do you only favor statistical breakdowns by race when they serve the purpose of income redistribution?
I sure do....and said well...:)
Yep, see post #54. Way too many of these stories. Thanks.
First, I was referring to your respo.....oh, nevermind.
Second, believe it or not, I am on your side. What troubles me are all the posts about child abuse on FR that end up with thread after thread of hand-wringing and outrage that serve absolutely no purpose. How many times can I read, "What is wrong with kids today?" That doesn't solve anything.
I never said violent crime statistics were made up. I did say that they have been misrepresented in the press and misused by politicians and I stand by that. Calling that a conspiracy theory is simply naive.
It is also naive to think that the press in this country will suddenly wake up and say, "Hey, you know what, you are right! All these societal problems we are seeing are the result of us turning our backs on God and going our own way."
I don't disagree with your goal. I am simply saying that obsessing on bad news is not the away to achieve it.
I was curious how you would respond to that. Good answer, though I thought obvious.
You are correct. BTW, I never claimed it did. Look at my original post.
We already do, just they don't get a chance to breathe air first.
>>Do you only favor statistical breakdowns by race when they serve the purpose of income redistribution?<<
income redistribution? Do you have an example where I favor statistical breakdowns by race? Are you suggesting this has anything to do with slave reparations?
I don't disagree with your goal. I am simply saying that obsessing on bad news is not the away to achieve it.
I don't see obsession, however I do believe that talking or (typing) frustrations about such a sensitive issue helps a lot more than it seems. This is how people from forever have come to good sound conclusions. Who knows there could be a parent out there reading that could be having trouble in some way and something someone says here serve as a blessing. So I believe this could serve as a positive in many ways. Either way I do not see that it is causing harm. :) No offense to you and your thoughts.
Fortunately for me, I've never had to experience divorce, other than those of other people we know. We've managed to raise our kids and stay married for 25 years, which is almost unheard of these days. Now were are getting too old to worry about divorce. We will just wait till one of us kicks the bucket. (That way lawyers get nothing) :o)
Maybe you mispoke, but you sounded like you needed a tinfoil hat...
My thoughts exactly. He knew what he was doing, did it and when doing it with his body alone did not work, got a 2X4. This boy had a mission to complete. He completed it and now has the attention, no more baby sister to siphon it off. long as they are sole receivers of it.
Congratulations! If only we made divorce as socially unacceptable as smoking.....children would be much better off.
Way to go and CONGRATS!!!! I wish that I could see more of this, it is such a wonderful thing to hear, wow people really do stay together sometimes? It seems we never hear it anymore. Do you know my daughter says it is uncommon to go to school and someone say their parents are still married. Divorce is "normal" in todays world. And it probably does have a lot to do with what goes on with our children. It would have to. No way around it, divorce means a lot, but on the other hand so does being married and live in hell, so children have to....If we could all go back to marriage with G-d as head, only then will we see a difference.
What in the world are you talking about??????????
Please show where I said, or even alluded to, putting a child down.

Pete, the chart here shows Blacks kids die 80% more often than whites. Parents are the more probable killers in too many cases when discussing infant deaths.
People who love to spout forth against the death sentence probably live in gated communities on the '99th floor of their block'. There is little chance they'll ever meet one of the criminals they so vehemently champion as they ride in glory from one safe enclave of affluence to the other. When we let another murderer or pervert free out on the streets we sic'em on the poor ******** that live in the real world. Without capital punishment we endanger each and every corrections officer and subvert the effectiveness of the life sentence.
What are you talking about?
