I got a little worried -- worried that some sort of last minute compromise deal with 'moderates' in France would be brokered by John McCain! French voters withhold using the Nuke Option -- 'Non' to the EU charter -- in exchange for . . . for . . . FACE TIME.

When you are irrelevant you will do anything for relevance.

Super article and great graphics.

Heard early this morning that Holland had followed in France's footsteps and voted down the EU Constitution. What do you want to be that the EU starts going down the tube shortly and that very soon we will see it dissolve complete!!

Five-Finger Prayers

Read:
James 5:13-18

Pray for one another. -James 5:16

Bible In One Year: Proverbs 4-7

cover Prayer is a conversation with God, not a formula. Yet sometimes we might need to use a "method" to freshen up our prayer time. We can pray the Psalms or other Scriptures (such as The Lord's Prayer), or use the ACTS method (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, and Supplication). I recently came across this "Five-Finger Prayer" to use as a guide when praying for others:

  • When you fold your hands, the thumb is nearest you. So begin by praying for those closest to you-your loved ones (Philippians 1:3-5).

  • The index finger is the pointer. Pray for those who teach-Bible teachers and preachers, and those who teach children (1 Thessalonians 5:25).

  • The next finger is the tallest. It reminds you to pray for those in authority over you-national and local leaders, and your supervisor at work (1 Timothy 2:1-2).

  • The fourth finger is usually the weakest. Pray for those who are in trouble or who are suffering (James 5:13-16).

  • Then comes your little finger. It reminds you of your smallness in relation to God's greatness. Ask Him to supply your needs (Philippians 4:6,19).

Whatever method you use, just talk with your Father. He wants to hear what's on your heart. -Anne Cetas

Our prayers ascend to heaven's throne
Regardless of the form we use;
Our Father always hears His own
Regardless of the words we choose. -D. De Haan

It's not the words we pray that matter, it's the condition of our heart.

So it's 'Jacque In Shock Day,' oui??
Gotta hand it to you, Dear John, for giving us another sure-fired winnah..:))

So much for his visions of being the King of Europe, I suppose --

As for that proposed, very convoluted, European Constitution, you wrote:
"Four-hundred and forty-eight bite-sized clauses, annexes to grind any lawyer's teeth into fine particles, protocols and catchy lines --"

-- "Weep, Jacko - - it could be much worse --
the Froggies might have been rankled enough
to banish you to French Guiana!!"

"the toughest penal colony of all time, Devil's Island. The most infamous prison in history, it was a desolate place of exile in French Guiana (Devil's Island was actually a small island off the coast of French Guiana, but the main prisons on the mainland, over time, became known collectively as "Devil's Island". "

-- without any (French) wines ...
or (French) fries --
or any French at all!

The future headlines *could* contain this graphic!!

Yep - the devil is surely in the details....

Headin' for my cook book to plan tonight's dinner,

"Rearranging the deck chairs on the Eurotitanic, Chirac named Dominique De Villepin as prime minister on Tuesday, vowing in yet another live TV address to keep on doing what he's been doing. If at first you don't succeed, try to fail harder next time! Are you ready?"

Now, now, JH -- just be relieved he didn't ask Jean Kerree
to be his Peace (at any price) Envoy to the European Union!
He does have French blood, and spent a lotta time there
(photo is John Kerry as a child),
sobbing over his Mommy's castle they had to rebuild, ya know --
from his bio in an encyclopdia -

"Maternal family background:

Kerry has said that his first memory is from when he was three years old, of holding his crying mother's hand while they walked through the broken glass and rubble of her childhood home in Saint-Briac, France. This visit came shortly after the United States had liberated Saint-Briac from the Nazis on August 14, 1944. The family estate, known as Les Essarts, had been occupied and used as a Nazi headquarters during the war. When the Germans fled, they bombed Les Essarts and burnt it down.

The sprawling estate was rebuilt in 1954. Kerry and his parents would often spend the summer holidays there. Kerry occupied his time there racing his cousins on bicycles and challenging relatives to games of kick the can. During these summers, he became good friends with his first cousin Brice Lalonde, a future Socialist and Green Party leader in France who ran for president of France in 1981."

[Does Kerry secretly want to be the President of France;
or harbor aspirations of being its/anyone's KING??!!]

===================================================
Here's the Real Shocker ! - -

Kerry hates doesn't like George w. Bush, but he is actually his cousin!!

Read on:

"John Kerry's maternal grandfather, James Grant Forbes, was born in Shanghai, China, where the Forbes family of China and Boston accumulated a fortune in the opium and China trade. Forbes married Margaret Tyndal Winthrop, who came from a family with deep roots in New England history.

Through her, John Kerry is related to four Presidents, including, ironically, George W. Bush (ninth cousin, twice removed), and to many of the royal houses of Europe."

Through the marriage of Edmund Reade (1563-1623)
and Elizabeth Cooke (before 1578-about 1637),
both GWB and Kerry are their descendants!

======================================================

Here he is, trying very, very hard not to look as if he's a
!!!

LOL - keep on pitching, Jean, baby --
you might make the 'Major Leagues' - somewhere - yet..:))

Better late than never, right?

JH2, you are at your best once again. Thanks for sharing your wonderful talent with us.

Dutchess, your illustrations are a perfect compliment to John's essay. Great job, both of you!
