PLYMOUTH - Police charged a Plymouth woman with a hate crime after she allegedly jumped out of her car and repeatedly punched a 14-year-old girl, a member of the Twelve Tribes religious group, who was walking down the street with her mother and two siblings.

So, you gotta like this lady, she (presumably) thinks these people are abusing children, so to protest that, she beats on one of this religious community's child members!

So why is this a hate crime? If she would have hopped out of her car and not said a word, it would have been fine? Next up, Thought crimes.
On a local talk show, maybe a year or so ago, a caller tried to justify, and in effect define, the term "hate crime" to the host by saying "If someone gets punched then is slurred, that is not a hate crime. If someone is slurred and then is punched, then it is a hate crime."
As much as I'd like to pin this on the left, the article only makes it sound as though the perp is an Irish colleen who smokes a little dope. Sounds like a normal apolitical sh*thead to me.
So if the 14 year old was being abused by the cult, the woman decided to make things right by beating her up???
I don't think so. Article says: Monaghan is charged with assault and battery, a civil rights violation and marijuana possession.
I think the cops thought that anyone who circles around the block, gets out of their car, pummels a kid and then laughs about it deserves to have the book thrown at them. Monaghan is pretty lucky that her face didn't meet a brick. Repeatedly.
I hope she gets hard time.

I think this woman should be punished just as anyone should, that would physically assault a 14 year old girl, but I would like to see certain government officials punished for bringing on the horror in Waco.
