Police Discover Ring of Neo-Nazi Immigrants From FSU [Israel]
Israel National News (Arutz 7) ^ | June 1, 2005

Israel’s police have uncovered a group of at least 20 neo-Nazis who immigrated to Israel from the Former Soviet Union under the Law of Return.

Police are not certain how to proceed due to the lack of legal basis for prosecuting Israelis espousing anti-Semitic ideology.

The neo-Nazi group was discovered following the arrest of a 20-year-old IDF soldier on drug charges. That resulted in the discovery of neo-Nazi material in his home and a swastika tattooed on his arm.

During the investigation of the arrested neo-Nazi and his mother, who also professed hatred for Jews and Israel, other members of the group were revealed. Police detective Haim Fadlon told the Maariv newspaper that the suspects are believed to have met each other in anti-Semitic chat rooms on the Internet. They have held meeting and performed ceremonies with swastika banners and other Nazi paraphernalia as well.

"We cannot disclose details of the inquiry, but it's chilling," Fadlon said. "It appears these are people living in this country who are talking among themselves about extermination of the Jews."

Under the current 'Law of Return,' anybody with a Jewish grandparent can immigrate to Israel and receive citizenship and benefits. Immigrant groups representing Jews from the former Soviet Union have long called for reform in the law due to immigrants moving to Israel for financial reasons, bringing their enmity for Jews and Israel along with them.

Interior Minister Ofir Pines-Paz has asked Attorney General Menachem Mazuz to interpret the law regarding new immigrants and citizenship to examine the legal procedure under which a new immigrant’s status can be revoked.

Change the Law of Return so that it conforms to halacha.

This is a Bizzare case, truly with a capital "B"!

I'm left wondering though, how can these people claim to be superior enough to Jews to hate them, yet clearly have enough Jewish ancestry in their blood to immigrate to Israel? Is it just me, or does this reek of hypocrisy?

Then again, no one ever said racism/bigotry in any form was smart, much less the people that believe in such garbage.

this is what happens when people with intentions either good or bad tamper with halacha. the title
"Jew" should be legally (for secular purposes) defined to comply with the age old halachic definition. interestingly, if any of these folk's father's parent's were the Jewish grandparent these clowns would be Jewish under reform standards.

Hitler could have made a good case for qualifying, and he certainly had a Field Marshall who would have qualified under the Law of Return. There are some obvious flaws in the law as it is presently drafted.

The Law of Return allows anyone with one Jewish grandparent to immigrate to Israel as a Jew. This is modeled after Hitler's Nuremburg law which defined as a "Jew" anyone with one Jewish grandparent.

Under Jewish law, a Jew is a person whose mother is Jewish, or who has converted according to halacha (Jewish religious law).

Reform and Conservative Jews have always been opposed to the traditional definition, because they do not follow halacha for conversions.

Since the 1980's, Israel has depended on a steady stream of immigration from Russia. Now that religious freedom has returned to the former Soviet Union, Jews are not so eager to emigrate when they can live full religious lives in Russia. In order to encourage emigration, the Jewish Agency has been processing non-Jews claiming a fictitious "Jewish grandparent" who want to emigrate for economic or criminal reasons and get "free stuff" from the Israeli government.

Russian Jewish activists have been predicting for years that this would become a problem.

I think the answer here is easy: Let's have them construct a gas chamber and the jewish neo-nazis can all jump in. That is the logical conclusion of their thought process.

I have a better idea.

Let them go live in Gaza City, Ramallah, Jenin and Nablus.

Just because they were eligible to immigrate, they wouldn't necessarily be considered Jews. To my knowledge Reform Judiasm would recognize Jewish potentiality derived from the father only if they were practicing Judiasm, Reform obviously, which I doubt these fellows were.

That might work too. Although I think the muslims would be smart enough not to kill them immediately, but rather to send them on missions against Israel.

Sadly, I am not surprised by this. Among the emigres there have always been embedded false-Jews and ex-Jews. Shame on them. May they rot in hell.

Falsified records and forged passports, perhaps? And the follow on question. Has this technique also been used in order to inject SVR agents into Israel (as if I needed to ask).
