I love chocolate fondue Cafe Uno in London do a wonderful one. The Melting Pot does the entire meal as a fondue. I sure wish there was one closer to home. They are a chain, but the closest one to us is about 5 hours away in Sacramento.
Did I tell you, FRee, that I was so impressed with the The Melting Pot that I gave my son a gift certificate for dinner for two there on his birthday? Problem is, the closest Melting Pot to him is about three hours away and in order to get reservations he says he has to call about a week ahead....so he hasn't used it yet.
They just can't handle the demand and they are building them as fast as they can.

Those of us old enough, remember having the Fondue dinner parties.. good wine with Beef fondue in oil (used tenderloin); vegetables in broth; shrimp/cut lobster in seasoned oil; homemade bread in herb/cheese fondue; strawberries, marshmallows etc in chocolate rum fondue... Everyone was so full & meals lasted so long & so much laughter. I now use my old fondue pot like a crock pot. I recall having six pots. we were on admirals staff in Panama & were the junior most officers on staff.. fun to try to keep up with those more senior with paid staff & much more $$$. But no kids, minimal expenses.. why not?
