That would be a mistake. I can almost see a Constitutional amendment prohibiting consecutive candidates from the same immediate family.

You think 25 years of a Bush or Clinton in the Oval Office or a heartbeat away is enough? Before the wives get a chance? Our system suffers from inbreeding.

I a, getting tired of voting for the lesser of two evils.

America doesn't need a royal family;too many of the Presidents have been related already.

Repeal the amendment and substitute 'limited to ONE term of four years "

Point taken. We had a suspicious hunch as to the definition of "compassionate conservative".

Do realize that that if Hillary or Jeb is elected President in 2008 that will be twenty four years with either a Bush or a Clinton as President. I think the American public is ready for a change.

I'm tired of the whole lot of them. The creepy Clinton's, the Bush family, John McCain, etc, etc. I'd appreciate it if they'd just close Washington for a few years. We'd be better off.

Amen.

Normal people can survive the lack of politicians for a while. Maybe a long while.

Let's find out!

Frankly, I've had enough of Morris. I appreciate his anti-Hillary stance, but if he keeps it up, he'll talk America into voting for her.

I would vote for him and hope he wins, just to watch some heads explode on FR as well and ONLY for that...

Honestly if he can be the VP instead of the President that would be better, or possibly some time off and come back later, would be the very best for him and his chances, at any rate....

White, Anglo-Saxon, Protestant (except Kennedy) males. For more than 220 years.

It's time to break that routine.

Condoleezza Rice is perfect for the task.

"I would vote for Powell in a heartbeat."

Not me. I never considered the man to be even centrist, let alone right of center.

No disrespect toward the President, but Jeb's spanish language skills far exceed those of the President.

During hurricane briefings he carries on one news conference in English, then another in Spanish.

It was ratified properly in 1951. Furthermore, we continue to see strong interest in congressional and gubernatorial term limits. We have been very consistent on this message.

Jeb Bush is one of, if not the, best Governor in the United States. He has introduced Charter School legislation, cut taxes and government spending nearly every year, passed a good tort reform bill, liberalized gun laws, and generally advanced freedom in the state of Florida (which is booming economically btw). He is not the domestic liberal that GW is.

That said, the United States should not be run by aristocratic type families. Mike Pence is just as solid as Jeb.

But I would support Jeb for President if he ran. He is one of the very, very few Republicans I would support for President. For those interested there is a very good CATO article which ranks the governors that explains this things in more detail.

One thing I was dissapointed in was when Jeb issues all these draconian laws against 'price gouging' during the Florida Hurricane. This hurt the citizens of florida a lot, by keeping desperately needed supplies out of the state. It is a bit scary if he really has this little knoweldge of economics.

especially since we will be facing the first female/hispanic ticket in history. using two white guys again is not going to cut it.

the RNC doesn't have the stones to mount a campaign against Hillary - to beat her will take well funded independent 527s. she will get a total free ride from the media, only positive coverage on all issues.

frankly, Bush could have tagged the clintons with being responsible for 9-11, since their 8 years of stewardship led directly to it 7 months after leaving office. His desire not to do so may be a defining moment in our history if she wins the presidency.
