It is really funny in a tragic sort of funny.

There was no GRAND principle.

There was no noble cause.

There was no effort to "seek justice", this was just a whinny vendetta from a petty bureaucrat.

This was not writing talent, this was stupid luck for those two reporters.

This is not to be admired, this only deserves ridicule because a major scandal has been exposed to have been caused by nothing more than a little man's hissy fit.

I keep thinking the same thing and wonder what is in Voinivich's background now. Would bet Hillary was behind McCain going to the middle and left and becoming a maverick as well. Compare his voting record before the Clintons took office and after -- big difference.

Although I virtually never agree with John Dean, he was on with Keith Olbermann last night, saying that Woodward and Bernstein have some explaining to do.

FBI files?

Perhaps this weasel being in the FBI and the FBI files "magically" appearing in Hitlary's possession is no accident.

Perhaps, there is very much credibility to John Bolton bucking heads with the career hack government desk jockies.

That's right. And the wonderful thing is, W&B will lose control of the roll out of the story and its context. People will draw their own conclusions on Felt's motivation while W&B will be spinning this for the rest of their lives.

Should we demand a prosecution and proper investigation into his leaking of classified FBI files to the Wash. Post?

And what is your best guess? I think Jackie Kennedy had it about right.

I have Operation Solo, John Barron's book on Morris Childs. Morris Childs gave the US invaluable information from his friends inside the Kremlin, and he carried funds to the CPUSA, but the book doesn't support the idea that "the CPUSA couldn't take a clinton" without Morris Childs knowing about it. That's a far more detailed and comprehensive knowledge than he ever claimed to have had.

Silent Coup makes the best case for what Watergate was about. It certainly convinced Gordon Liddy. It was a Dean operation designed to spy on the prostitution ring that his girlfriend/wife had been a part of, a ring being run from a desk at DNC headquarters in the Watergate.

Just imagine all the books on Nixon over the years.
Now everyone will have to update them and say who Deep Throat is.

There will be a whole new series of books. But Nixon just looks so much better with this revelation. And I wonder how many insiders "pretty much knew" who DT was.

Woodward lied. He said he would not confirm it until DT's death. Even in recent days he has said this.

And Felt was prosecuted for break-ins himself.

THESE are the people being held up as heroes?

I just saw a rerun of Chris Matthews. Ed Bradlee is still a bitter old leftist. He was complaining about "those people"(I'm assuming) like J. Gordon Liddy, Buchanan, etc. on television giving their side of the story. How unbiased of him. /sarcasm

I read an article years ago and Arlene Specter was like a gofer in those days......I really think he helped carry out the assassination.

When I read the article a feeling came over me that somehow he was involved??

don't mean he pulled the trigger.....only he seemed to be around in all the right places before, during, and after and the various rolls he played!

The Warren Commission and the Magic Bullet theory!
He just seem to be around when things needed to be tidy up!

It seemed that JFK was interfering with things that could get you killed....

Executive Order 1110 gave the US the ability to create its own money backed by silver. ...

On June 4, 1963, a little known attempt was made to strip the Federal Reserve Bank of its power to loan money to the government at interest. On that day President John F. Kennedy signed Executive Order No. 11110 that returned to the U.S. government the power to issue currency, without going through the Federal Reserve. Mr. Kennedy's order gave the Treasury the power "to issue silver certificates against any silver bullion, silver, or standard silver dollars in the Treasury." This meant that for every ounce of silver in the U.S. Treasury's vault, the government could introduce new money into circulation. In all, Kennedy brought nearly $4.3 billion in U.S. notes into circulation. The ramifications of this bill are enormous.

.... also JFK was going to bring the troops home from Nam!

JFK AND VIETNAM
The best book I've read on President Kennedy's thoughts and actions regarding Vietnam is one written by John M. Newman entitled JFK AND VIETNAM. After putting it down I had no doubt that JFK intended to get the United States out of Vietnam in everything other than logistical support. There were to be no more USA troops sent over, and those already there were going to be withdrawn. I think it's one of the main reasons they killed JFK.

If JFK had lived, so too would 58,000 American boys who subsequently died in Vietnam, and so too would his brother, Robert, who also died trying to stop it.
