In encouraging her father to tell his own story, Mr. Felt's daughter, Joan, spoke of the money it might make to help pay tuition bills for her children.

seems reasonable to me.

For the family it's about the money but for Felt it's about the admission that he's a babbling idiot that must have more skeletons in his closet that needs to be dug out. Nows a good time for the MSM to do their job. The old geezer can't take it with him or can he?

To: No Longer Free State

"He'd have gone before congress, or openly contacted journalists to make his claims. No, he's a vindictive tattletale without the intestinal fortitude to stand up for a principle."

That's my response to this, too! As a top FBI official he surely had many ways to let key Congress-critters know that they needed to call him before some committee hearings. No, he didn't take the high road and follow proper democratic procedures, he used the WaPo to conduct a guerilla campaign against the Nixon White House. WHY? Two most plausible reasons suggest themselves: (1) he wanted his revenge for being passed over for promotion without having to be associated with that revenge; (2) following upon (1), I'll bet he still hoped to be FBI Director and knew that would not happen if he were seen as disloyal. So, from a fusion of frustrated ambition and revenge motives, he resorted to criminal leaking of confidential FBI investigatory material to the press....

I must have done something wrong. My Grandfather was instrumental in developing aircraft radar in the 30s or 40s and I still had to work to pay my tuition to college.

Felt looks like dead man walking but I would like to know what other things his family knows about him? Did he ever meet with foreign agents in violation of US Policy? Did he ever indicate to any foreign agency his intent on ridding Nixon? Did the MSM make him out larger than his real role? Was he paid for the information?

I think what's his name...(the jailed traitor?) ought be interviewed. Dayum, I can't think of his name. The recent spy who was caught a couple of years back during Freeh's stint ...the one with the wife and family who knew NOTHING.

I know who you're talking about but I too can't remember his name. No one knows anything till the money is shown.

Did he break any laws? He must be prosecuted if he did. And since they knew, his family would be guilty of obstructing justice.''

Too late. The statute of limitations was only 5 years for his crimes. He's been Scot-free since about 1979-80.

Right. Always follow the money. Maybe the guy we're thinking of, is too young to know anything...

I have heard him referred to as a "hero" more than once on CNN. To me he sounds more like a backstabbing disloyal coward. Hello...second in charge of the FBI? Is that the standard operating procedure; to leak president-d@mning information to a 9 month Washington com-Post Metro section veteran? Sounds pretty shady and gutless to me.

I also heard them refer to Nixon as the only president to leave office "shamed".@Oh how quickly they forget.
