Per MSNBC
*yawn*
Who cares? The "secret" was to be told some day. This is so baby-boomer and 30 years ago.
Yep!
That's the story the MSM will never tell, Pat.
OMG! Here comes Richard Ben-Veniste. PUKE! I guess Hillary will be next.
Totally agree! Nixon was a saint in comparison. I'll say it Nixon was a good man!
It will be interesting to see just what MF has been doing all these years and to whom he is connected.
What crimes did Felt and the WP do? This is before my time and you won't get this from history books.
WOW! Great find. I didn't realize Reagan had pardoned him. Of course I was 10 years old at the time and my interest in politics hadn't sparked.
"Dan Rather thinks Felt performed a public service............... Wow! I'm relieved!"
LMAO 'All The Liar's Liars'.
I'm taping it because I have dinner on the table
Richard Ben-Veniste said Pat Buchanan's side lost. That proves it was nothing but a game to them.
Leaking information from FBI files for starters.
There are probably hundreds of instances he committed such.
Besides the point that the American 'people' were too $$^AMN STUPID to realize that their great president cXXXton was importing Islamic Extremests INTO BOSNIA against the will of congress and they are now infesting Europe because of bILL clXXXon, thanks to the liberal voters that, OH, HOW I WISH WE COULD REVOKE THEIR 'RIGHT' TO VOTE before they GET US ALL KILLED.
Did you see the look on Buchanan's face as Chrissy was dismissing him---Buchanan was saying what all happened, that might have been different, like the murders of millions in Cambodia, S. Vietnam, etc., and Chrissy cuts him off....
They show a shot of Buchanan and he looked like he wanted to strange Chrissy---
How much time did Monica get? 20 seconds? sheeshh-
BUT, Chrissy will have plenty of time for that commie actor Robert Redford later, just because he ACTED IN A MOVIE!!!
I wonder if Ben-Veniste thought it was a crime for the Clintons to investigate their enemies and steal their FBI files?! Richard Nixon could have lived three hundred years and not touched the corruption those people have in just eight years. Hillary even had her "friend" in the IRS audit her perceived enemies. You won't hear that in the OLD MEDIA (Chrissy Matthews, Evan Thomas, etc.) I'm so damned sick of their biases that I want to personally slap each and everyone of them.
Dang, you learn something new every day! and I'm not talking about Deep Throat---
YOU Mo1 are just a baby---8 years old in 72? Whoa---I didn't realize you were such a baby---and so well informed, too!!! LOL
I hope you know I am both kidding and jealous at the same time!
Hillary was on the independent counsel staff for drawing up impeachment articles on Nixon, right?
Could this be Woodward's way of diffusing any interest in Watergate? Revealing Deep Throat? That was really the only interest left.
Kinda shifts blame to Felt so you can't really point o Hillary and say, "she was there - she took him down".
Richard Ben-Veniste
While much attention has been paid to 9/11 Commissioner Richard Ben-Veniste, the longtime Washington insider, Watergate prosecutor and Democratic congressional chief counsel during the Whitewater hearings, little note has been paid to his law firm.
Ben-Veniste is a member of the Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw law firm based in Washington, D.C., and has had his shingle hanging there since 2002.
As a member of the 9/11 Commission, Ben-Veniste has almost limitless access to classified government information into every aspect of the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks that tore down the World Trade Center, hit the Pentagon and killed 3,000 people.
At the same time, his firm is listed as representing two companies - Westfield Corp. and Westfield America - that are key parties to the multi-billion-dollar litigation over insurance liability in the towers' collapse.
It's worth noting that, shortly after former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger was named to co-chair the 9/11 commission, Kissinger resigned after concerns were raised about potential conflicts between the commission's work and Kissinger's private consulting firm.
Ben-Veniste stayed.
LOL I was 9
Nixon and Haldeman knew who it was - so did the whole White House probably.
The following from Slate:
"As in the White House tapes excerpt Chatterbox previously cited, Felt is discussed as a probable leaker. This time, though, Nixon (who, among other things, will likely be remembered as America's last anti-Semitic president) expresses horror at discovering Felt to be Jewish. This conversation, dated Oct. 19, 1972, is even more Gothic than the last:
Nixon: Well, if they've got a leak down at the FBI, why the hell can't Gray tell us what the hell is left? You know what I mean?...
Haldeman: We know what's left, and we know who leaked it.
Nixon: Somebody in the FBI?
Haldeman: Yes, sir. Mark Felt. You can't say anything about this because it will screw up our source and there's a real concern. Mitchell is the only one who knows about this and he feels strongly that we better not do anything because--
Nixon: Do anything? Never.
Haldeman: If we move on him, he'll go out and unload everything. He knows everything that's to be known in the FBI. He has access to absolutely everything ...
Nixon: What would you do with Felt?
Haldeman: Well, I asked Dean ...
Nixon: You know what I'd do with him, the bastard? Well that's all I want to hear about it.
Haldeman: I think he wants to be in the top spot.
Nixon: That's a hell of a way for him to get to the top.
Haldeman: You can figure a lot of--maybe he thought--first of all, he has to figure that if you stay in as president there's a possibility or probability Gray will stay on. If McGovern comes in, then you know Gray's going to be out ...
Nixon: Is he Catholic?
Haldeman: (unintelligible) Jewish.
President Nixon: Christ, put a Jew in there?
Haldeman: Well, that could explain it too. "
