It was obvious the they had to be getting their leads from someone with inside knowledge in a position to know.

I don't think it's a good point to say the source was good therefore the reporters weren't as good.

Exactly. They were used to further Felt's agenda. But the media treated them like great investigative reporters. One of them was so handsome he had to be portrayed by Robert Redford!!!!
