He did a great job. SS reform still high on his list. Looking forward to up or down vote on Bolton. He is disappointed that it has not already been done. Thinks Amnesty International's "gulag" statement is "absurd." Looking forward to working with Congress on the SS reform and other important matters. Feels that diplomacy is the best way to go as far as North Korea is concerned. Feels that his job is to keep pushing the important issues and get Congress to come to the table and discuss these issues. Says that things do not happen overnight in Washington, that politicians worry about what voting for these important programs will do to them in the polls. He feels he must keep getting the word out to the American people. Feels Bolton is the right man because the American people, or many of them, have lost faith in the U.N., and we need someone in there to make sure our 2 Billion Dollars in taxpayers' money is not wasted and that reform takes place.
Mr. FRIST. Madam President, I entered a motion to reconsider this vote to allow us to revisit this issue when we return. We will be doing that. We will be closing shortly this evening, but before we close, I will file cloture motions on the Brown nomination and the Pryor nomination. Our next vote will be Tuesday, June 7, and that vote will occur prior to the policy luncheons, probably at noon on June 7.For text ...
Mr. BIDEN. Madam President, I wish to make it clear to all my colleagues, speaking for myself, that I have absolutely no intention to prevent an up-or-down vote on Mr. Bolton. The issue here is about whether the executive branch will provide information which the majority leader tried yesterday and today to get, and which I think almost every Senator here would acknowledge the institution is entitled to get. We are prepared to not even ask that the ranking member and the chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee see the information we have sought. I implore the administration to provide the information, and--speaking for myself, and I can speak for no one else, but I[Page: S5998] GPO's PDF
believe my colleagues on my side would agree with me--we are willing to vote 10 minutes after we come back into session if, in fact, they provide the information--information to which Mr. Bolton's staff had access but which they will not give to the majority leader of the Senate. There is no reason offered.
Again!
Not one friggin' question on ILLEGAL ALIENS & BORDER SECURITY!
Looks like if it doesn't personally affect reporters in D.C. then to heck with the rest of us in America who are footing the bill!!!
Oh, good grief. [rolling eyes]
Since it's just such a snap, why don't you go take care of it? Report back to us when you're done mopping up.
Pray tell, what principles would those be, and where are they expressed?
The right to invade illegally and live off the proceeds of the rightful residents' investments?
How about our right to defend ourselves against foreign invasion?
First, welcome to the forum. Second, I'm sure kjam could use a photographer for his/her upcoming mission.

When we had Dish installed in our home 5 years ago, I had the installer show me how to block all CNN channels. That prevents any accidental viewing of CNN lies.
The MSM is pushing their wet dream that he is a frustrated Lame Duck President and their polls show he is losing support in the War in Iraq, Social Security and his economic plans.
Look at how the Bush whackers on this thread are following that matrix.
The fact is that in the days after 9-11 we heard speeches that drew a serious line in the sand. And what we were promised has not exactly panned out.
We're the United States and we have the best military the world has ever known.... but we can't find Osama Bin Laden in part because we won't go into some countries to chase him down.
That's my opinion.
Okay. If this was the quote I heard (honestly can't recall), then the timeframe is left open. Thanks
I don't think SS will ever get anything done to it! The Senate will stall it.
This is the quote I heard! That does at least make it sound like Bolton is back up before or simultaneously (pick 'em!) with Brown and Pryor. Thanks again.
Show me the jobs Americans are "unwilling to do."
I've recently built a home here in North Texas, and not a single Spanish-speaker worked on it - all were Americans.
I get my grass mowed, and it's an English-speaking American that does it.
Guy that comes and picks up the garbage once a week is an American.
What else is there? Besides lame excuses, that is.
They've been doing it since 1999; they just lie in wait for anything to trash him with.
We all know who they are. And we all know why they're here.
And that's probably not a coincidence.
Somehow I don't thing GW plans press conferences [or anything for that matter] to boost his poll numbers!!
Some are more susceptible to liberal media brainwashing than others.
We need to vote out every Republican who was ever in Congress while the Dims were in power; every such Republican has that minority mind-set burned into his brain, and a tatoo on his backside that says "Property of the Dimocratic National Committee."
me neither President Bush has to throw the press a bone once in awhile to keep the whining down.
I'm more worried about what Frist should or should NOT do rather than what he can do. Technically he wouldn't need all 7 RINOs' votes but it would be better to have a voting cushion.
