W has decided that he has to speak in simple sentences to these reporters

Summary of President's comments on the Bolton Nomination:

• Bolton desrves an up-or-down vote
• There are enough votes to confirm the nominee, when he gets an up-or-down vote
• Disappointed that the Senate has not given an up-or-down vote. Had expected it to have done so by now.
• It is important to get this up-or-down vote so that Bolton, a no-nonsense person, can get to work at the UN.
• The document request by the DEMs is a stall tactic, a delay, a device to delay taking the up-or-dwon vote. He asked the Senate to stop stalling and get to the vote.
• Referred to the failed cloture motion as a "Stall, a stall headed for a filibuster." Doesn't know when the label of filibuster ought to attach (doesn't really matter - the nominees deserve an up-or-down vote).
• Repeat that it is important to get an up-or-down vote on Bolton, so that the US has a no-nonsense guy representing its interests in the UN

Did you notice...when asked about a SC nominee..what critieria he would use....Bush did NOT say the requisite.."If there is a vacancy"...I think the CJ's retirement is imminent..
